It was a good day after all, but nothing like originally planned. The rain persisted, even on the "dry side," although I must say it was much lighter there. I was able to get the last of my souvenirs and we had a fabulous lunch (split a pizza and a calzone) and had a wonderful drive. On top of the ridge as we drove home, we say some really pretty rain and it's effects in the valleys. I couldn't get out of the car to get around the power lines, because it was coming down hard.
And this is a sign made by Dell back when he was still doing such things. Neat!
So all is well. Still no Hilo trip, but if we can get a better day tomorrow, we might try again. We'll see. For now, I'm all set with all I need. Just two more days! My, my my! It doesn't seem like I've been here that long, and it also seems forever!
And the water in the shower tank is lukewarm. Uhmmm. Warm enough that I'm not freezing, but .... C'MON, SUNSHINE!!
What a beautiful sign Lyn! So sorry about the rain but it sure was pretty!

You know, Di, I hate for it to sound like I'm grousing over all this, because I'm really having a great time, despite the weather. It is the strongest reminder in a long time about damp weather and how it affects me. This morning I woke with both shoulders and the right elbow aching. It's gorgeous here, but dry air at home will feel very good in a couple days, yet given a chance, I'd repeat this trip every year!
