These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Good Monday Morning!

Well, folks, this might my last blog for a few days. I might find time, but at this pint, I'm just not sure. Tomorrow morning I'm off to Kansas City. No, I'm off to Albuquerque, then to Dallas/Ft. Worth, then to KC. I'll have to leave here about 6:00 AM, drive to ABQ, where I'll leave my car with a friend. Then I'll catch the plane, have a layover for an hour and a half at DFW, before continuing to KC and arriving about 5:30. I'm gonna be one tired puppy. Caroline and Laura are picking me up and we will have dinner at our all-time favorite Mexican food place on the way home. I know, I know, I leave the land of good Mexican food and have Mexican in the Midwest! The restaurant is different, however, tending to be more like food you would expect in Central Mexico, rather than the New Mexico style. So it will be a treat.

I will have three busy days in KC, hopefully without major bumps. Right now, I'm a little concerned about one thing that has been requested following the inspection of the house. I see it as cosmetic (as does everyone I've spoken with, Real Estate professionals and others) and probably rather expensive. I plan to deny it, in my response, because I am taking care of several other items that have to do with safety or update due to regulation changes. Those are legit; the house is 50 years old. If I refuse to comply with the buyers' request, they may decide to back out. If they do, they are nuts, because they are getting a hellava nice home at a fair price. But you never know. I'm banking on the probability that they are not insane. Wish me luck.

Friday night C & L want to take me out to a place which I believe C described as "a Kansas City landmark" or "memorable," or something similar. I asked if I needed to bring something besides my planned jeans and sweats for working, and she said, no, jeans would be alright. Now . . . that makes me a little nervous. Where could we be going that is "memorable" or a "landmark" that I can dress that casually? Yes, I'm a bit concerned!

The weather here in NM will be in the upper 50s and 60s while I am gone. KC will be in the 20s and 30s. And I'm going to have to spend a lot of time outside, or in and out. What is wrong with this picture????

OK, I gotta go finish packing and run some last minute errands. I'll try to post if I can, but no promises until I'm back here. I return on Saturday, a reverse of the schedule above. Till whenever, everyone smile a lot! Have a good week, and be glad you're not having to help me!!! LOL!

  2. We are really excited about your visit and we will say lots of mother nature prayers in hopes of it warming up for all the work we are going to go.

As for dinner on Friday...don't worry. Jeans are always alright at this place. We'll have to see if we can get through the week without saying where we are going. That will be a real test.

Well, gotta get back to cleaning...

  5. Hi, all. I'm going to do a general response to save time. I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your well wishes and encouragement. Today has been a little rough as I've had to set up appointments to have estimates done for the upgrades to the KC house, and it is driving me to a nervous tizzy because I'll get those on Wed, then have to make a decision and reply in time to close on Friday. The time crunch is just very uncomfortable. Please continue to wish me well. Hugs to all.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
