These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

I'm SO Confused!

You know those labels that come on all pillows? The ones that give the content, care instructions and that BIG SCARY one that says, "DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF LAW"? Do you know how many people are really afraid to remove them because they can be convinced that the warning applies to the retailer, not the consumer?

Well, I usually don't cut those pesky labels off. I don't because I think of it at only one time ... when I'm putting fresh sheets on the bed. By the time I'm doing pillow cases, I'm usually tired of the process and ready to be done, so I put the pillow into the case tag-end first. Why? So that the tags don't tickle my nose in the night. And with a promise that I will get the scissors and cut them off ... NEXT TIME ... I sigh a happy sigh and I'm done!

I laughed at myself a while back, during a high stress period of my life. As I was performing the ritual, I thought about circumcising the pillow, but I didn't because ...are you ready for this? ... I thought, "How would I know which end goes into the case first?" No, honestly, I did!! And the pillow was encased before I realized my thinking error!

Well, I'm here today to say ... I cut the warning label off my pillows!!! Yes, I did, and I'm proud! I'm free! It's a brave new world ahead for me!! The photo above is proof. Yep, that is the tag from one of the pillows!! Hurray for me! I am woman, hear me roar!!!

But now I'm confused ......... how will I ever know which end of the pillow to put in the case first? I see sleepless nights ahead.

  7. That is the first thing I do. I have been in violation of the law since the day I bought my first mattress followed by a pillow. What is so funny is the tag isn't directed to the consumer it is for the mattress/pillow dealers. Funny post.
