These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Ohmygawd, Ohmygawd, Ohmygawd!!!!

I was going to post some pictures of the famous rutted driveway, but I'll do those later. When I was downloading pix from the camera, I found these which I took early this morning. I'd forgotten about them.

There was a deep haze over the whole mesa/valley when I woke this morning, and you know, of course, that I had to take a picture or two. I had no idea they would be this stunning. So for tonight, nothing else, just the pictures. :)

Ohhhhh ......

.... Life couldn't be more beautiful!!!

  2. My GOODNESS you live in a BEAUTIFUL place. That is absolutely STUNNING!!! I'd never get anything done or get anyone (Jayla) where they had to be. I'd be taking pictures and staring at the scenery ALL DAY!!!

  4. So gorgeous!! The overwhelming beauty of it brings tears to my eyes - like listening to Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or seeing the kids enjoy each other's company when they don't know I'm watching. You know. The really good stuff in life.

  9. You didn't photoshop that color in I take it? How sad that I immediately think a nature scene is too beautiful not to be photoshopped. Nature is better than photoshop.

  10. Sandra - Short answer ... no. Longer answer ... with digital photography and Photoshop, many things are possible. I've chosen to be a purist in my work. First of all, I agree with you that nature shouldn't be messed with. As I begin to sell my work, I've decided that I will not use the available tools to change my photos. I have a very good eye for composition and the colors are rich enough to be left as is. Occasionally I've lightened something or adjusted exposure because of poor lighting on an overcast day or shooting a tiny flower in the shadows. However, when I print, display and sell such photos, they will include disclaimers. I know I don't have to, and most photographers would not bother; but it is a sense of ethics and pride for me that my photos have "stand alone" quality, and I don't want to be confused with those who take a picture, then add/subtract many qualities about it, digitally manipulating it significantly. Yes, that is "art." But my shots are "nature" shots, and digitally-enhanced isn't "nature," IMHO.

More info than you needed, right? :)
