These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

  1. I'd have to say cremated. I remember when I was younger, my mother use to tell her husband that she wanted to be cremated and have her ashed strewn across the ocean. He told he'd just flush them down the toilet...they'd get to the ocean eventually. Isn't that mean? And you know, he died first. That was YEARS ago...and my mom is still upright and breathing :-).

  2. I never thought I would want to be cremated. The older I get the more the idea is growing on me.

  3. Dawn - LOL! She showed him, didn't she???

Daisy - I see the body as just a shell, so "preserving" it just seems weird to me. I really do want to be cremated, and whatever happens after that is up to my kids. I'll be mantle decoration or fertilizer for the earth as they wish. And it takes up precious space on earth to be buried. Silly waste!

  4. I used to always say that I wanted to be buried, but the older I get the more I rethink that. I would love to be cremated and my ashes spread in Northern Minnesota at the camp I attended as a child.

BTW, loved this cartoon. I may have to print it out. Where do you find all these cartoons?

  5. Caroline - The 'toons ... I subscribe to a service that offers a large variety of comic strips. It is mailed to me every day, and I can tweak it to my preference, omitting those I don't like. I had to do that because our local newspaper is semi-weekly and carries just 3 comic strips!! Can you believe it? LOL! They print 3 strips of comic strip A, 3 of strip B and 3 of strip C on Wednesday and repeat that on Friday!! I was having comic-withdrawal!! Life in the big city, er, I mean, the wee-tiny village!

  7. I want to be cremated. I told my son to put my ashes in a Diet Coke can. Then he is to take a float trip and sprinkle me all the way down the river.

I told my dad that I was going to take his ashes to a firecracker manufacturer and have it mixed with the explosives. Then we would have a "Farewell To Eddy" party - he liked this idea but mom didn't.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
