By the time I grabbed my camera and got outside, the moon had moved from being about one-third behind the mountains to what you see in the first picture. From the first to the last was just about fifteen minutes. That moon was traveling!
Good reminder that
Life is beautiful!!!
And occasionally it just about takes your breath away! This was certainly one of those times.
That's breathtaking, Lyn. Your such the smart one who sees the same moon as the rest of us but thinks to grab her camera! What a beautiful backdrop, though. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the moon pictures!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous photographs!! When I looked at the moon last night it was the strangest thing...it had an odd colour and shape and then it seemed to transform itself. It was a lovely night last night for a moon dance!!
ReplyDeleteCatherine - Over the past couple years I've begun to see with the brain of a photographer. That seems like a poorly constructed sentence, but it is what I meant. More and more, I see things and translate it into a picture in my head. I rarely leave the house without my camera because I see everything framed in a rectangle now, and when I forget the camera I'm always regretful at the pictures I miss! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteDaisy - Aren't the colors exquisite? Thank you!
Sherry - Have you noticed how the moon does that, change colors and shapes as it rises? The moon is a fascinating sight, I think, and we often overlook it because it is subtle, just sits there in the sky (or it does at a glance). I was very happy that I was able to capture the contours in the photos. Thanks!
Ooh I think moonrise is even more beautiful than sunrise! I love it!
ReplyDeletePatti - Each has its own select beauty, I think, but I can't argue with you ... this was spellbinding!
ReplyDeleteBEG would truly love a window like that!
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing! I love the moon. So beautiful and mysterious! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteSeven - Well, m'dear, I know where she can find one! One of the top selling points for this home!
ReplyDeleteDakota - Thank you! It was one of the most awesome vistas I've seen!
For sure Lynilu...the moon is so interesting. We take it for granted..it's just "there" in the sky..but sometimes when you really look, during the different phases you "see" it for what it really is...not just a round ball...white in the sky. Last night's was an orange colour, not quite round and then about an hour later, it looked more like the one in your photographs. What we see when we really take the time to "look"!
ReplyDeleteSherry - I think that is the best "gift" I've had with using the camera, the "eye," the awareness. I'm enjoying things at such a high level these days! thanks!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou take amazing photos - and how lucky you are to witness these amazing sights.
Casey - Thanks! Yes, it is good to be here and to see all the beauty around me. Makes me smile a lot!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea you lived in N.M. It's one of my favorite places (love Taos and Red River) and I've often hoped to retire there one day (the sooner the better, lol). Gorgeous pictures.
ReplyDeleteKathi - Indeedy, I do! I'm in Southern NM, near Ruidoso. Everyone comes here thinking desert, but I live at Alpine level in the mountains. More like Colorado than most expect!
