These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Did You Listen?

I just want to make a comment about last night's speeches. I hope you listened to Kathleen Sebelius. She is an awesome woman. I have a great deal of respect for her, and I hope one day to see her in the White House, herself. She is not offensive in how she governs, but she takes issues straight on, eye to eye with her opponents. She is strong, no nonsense, yet conducts herself like a lady. If the word"lady" offends you, I'm sorry, but I happen to think it is a good and powerful description of some of the greatest women I've known. I hope I can live up to it. After all, who says a lady can't be the strongest in almost any situation.

Just sayin'. Look for her to be more obvious in the next few years, 'cause I think she is gonna go somewhere.

Just sayin'.

  1. Didn't listen to anything political last night. I can't stand Bush and his whole administration. He has nothing to say that I want to hear. But I will keep my ears peeled for Kathleen Sebelius.

The word "lady" does not offend me. I try to behave in a lady like way. More women should try it.

  2. Miss Daisy, I usually don't listen to him, either, and I only listened with half an ear. But I was delighted to see that Sebelius was responding, and I perked up then!

About "lady," yes, I agree that more women should try it. It doesn't mean that one has to be less that powerful, or subservient to any other person. It just means that there are some nice, feel-good parts to being a woman that will only come to us if we behave genteelly. :)

  3. I will definitely have to check her out.

A "lady" is something we ALL should aspire to be!

  4. Patti, keep a watchful eye and hear-ful(???) ear. I could be wrong, but I see big things for her in DC. It would be nice to have a female leader that personifies behaviors of a lady, wouldn't it?

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
