These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Guard Dogs?

Well, they think so!! My boys were on the deck and began barking like crazy. I went out to see what was the hubbub, and I saw this...

  1. I am sure that deer was coming to see what that funny thing was on the dogs. (the helmets) At least you don't have to worry about someone sneaking up on your property. I feel so safe with Sophie here because I know that if anyone tried to get in the apartment she would let the entire building know.

  3. Caroline, actually, neither dog has on the helmet now! I took Sam's off this morning. A neighbor came over earlier, and they let me know she was here, too. Yes, it helps to know they'll alert me.

Annie, I loved that he/she stood there for several minutes while I took pictures. Very accommodating!

  7. Oh, I'll have to show the wife these. That's her passion in life . . . looking for and finding deer.

Speaking of dogs, and shih tzus in particular, we were at a restaurant on Friday and a lady waiting in front had a bulldog--shih tzu mix. I only thought that mixed breed was a punchline in that Dumb and Dumber movie.

Don't know what kind of guard dog that Bull Tzu would have made. He was shaking at all the attention he was getting from diner patrons. He was different looking as you can imagine.

  8. Dave, just bring her by for a peek! There are other pictures back in my blog of deer, too, if you search for "deer."

Interesting mix! I can't even begin to imagine what he looked like! My Joey is extremely bow-legged in the front, and when he trots toward me, I think he looks like a bulldog! Actually, cut short like these guys are, I've noticed that there is a resemblance between them!

  10. Julie, thanks, but I have one or two of my own around here. BTW, were you trading for deer or dogs?

  11. I think I would like to see a friendly deer face peeking out of the woods instead of a cat hungry coyote, but I'd trade for a dog too!

  12. OK, Julie, I'd c onsider trading a deer, but don't covet my canines!! ;D

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
