THIS IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely beautiful! This mural was unveiled last week at the Cochrane Ranch House. (Cochrane is in Alberta, ½ hr west of downtown Calgary.) Each tile is 1 foot square, is it's own individual picture and each is done by a different artist. All of them together form this huge mural. You can click on each of the tiles to see them in detail.
I have not zoomed in on all of it, but take a close look at the horses' eye! (Click any small panel to view that painting closely). When you look at the individual tiles in detail, scroll down just a little; there is a small picture of the tile before the artist began to put his/her personal touch.

Isn't that something????
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
Wow, how cool is that??

ReplyDeleteHow totally cool!
ReplyDeleteThat has been around for a couple of years.....I first saw it quite some time ago, and was stunned by it when I looked at it again just now.
ReplyDeleteAmazing for sure.
Ruth
Redfrog, they'll enjoy it!
ReplyDelete(M)ary, it's something, isn't it?
Daisy, absolutely!
MJ, I thought so!
Ruth, I hadn't seen it before, and I was stunned, too! Just shows you that things are not always quite what they seem in the "big picture," doesn't it?
I like the one at the tip of his chin too - two horses! I've never seen this before, it's awesome!
ReplyDeleteLyn being blog illiterate, did YOU remove a comment or did the person who sent it remove it? Did someone say something insulting about your post? Just wondering, you know lol
ReplyDeleteRuth
It IS something! I love it! We have a mural in downtown Darlington painted by an old black man in the early 80's depicting early Darlington mingled with a little new (back then). I'm always so afraid someone will vandalize it or it will be demolished or painted over. You just can't replicate some things...
ReplyDeleteThe pictures-within-a-mural thing is really really neat!
Sandra, yes, that is another cool one.it would take while to see them all, but I found everyone I looked at to be fascinating. How did they work it all together like that??
ReplyDeleteRuth, oh, that was removed by the commenter. It was just one of those things where the comment was published twice. The author removed it. I've removed a comment just a few times in the past because it was "spam" that managed to get through. I've actually been lucky as I've never had rude comments that I felt I needed to remove (knock on wood!).
Queenie, Does the city of Darlington do anything to protect, preserve the mural? I hope so. You'll have to show it to me next time I'm there.
Wow! That's incredible!
ReplyDeleteJen, yeah it is!!
