These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Two "Must" Reads

I know, I know, I'm screaming a lot these days, but this information scares me badly. Regardless of your political leanings, you must read this. These are super alarming!

I was just over at Casey's Place, and I about swallowed my tongue in shock! Check these two articles. People, what we don't know, what we don't check into, can literally take our rights away!! It takes all of us to check and share these matters!! Please, PLEASE don't be asleep at the wheel!!!

The State of Michigan, a swing state, had/has a plan to block the voting right of those who have had their home foreclosed!!!!!! Please read this.

Then after, that, take a look at this one:

Taken directly from Newsweek
It was a mainstay of Jim Crow segregation: for 100 years after the Civil War, Southern white Democrats kept eligible blacks from voting with poll taxes, literacy tests and property requirements. Starting in the 1960s, the U.S. Supreme Court declared these assaults on the heart of American democracy unconstitutional.

Now, with the help of a 2008 Supreme Court decision, Crawford vs. Marion County (Indiana) Election Board, white Republicans in some areas will keep eligible blacks from voting by requiring driver's licenses. Not only is this new-fangled discrimination constitutional, it's spreading.

What year are we living in????? I though it was 2008, but ......

God help us all if we ignore the signs.

  2. Caroline, I hear that. I just hope that enough people vote to make the end result honestly "the people's decision." OH, vote only after they know what they're really voting for!

  6. Patti, this kind of thing is exactly why we must read, must pay attention, must NOT let hype gloss over what is going on.
