These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Being Green

.

I'm here to tell you that my daughter and I are some kinda green. Yes, we are!

I recently mailed her something. As I was packing and addressing the box, I remember thinking that I think it is a box she had sent me something in a while back. Not positive, but I think so. I always remove and shred any identifying labels from boxes, so I wasn't positive. So I fix my label for it and send it off to her.

A couple weeks later she had something to send to me. Today I was removing the labels and found it was the same box! She labeled over my labels and sent it back! This little box is very well traveled, being from FL to NM at least three times! Unfortunately, this morning I ripped up one side getting our layers of tough clear tape off, so I can't reuse it. But it is going to the recycle bin in town.

We good! We green!!

One of my husbands favorite channels is the Green Planet. We are in the process of going "green".

  2. Kim, I do what I can, but I must admit I'm not as green as I'd like to be. I guess it takes time.

  3. Yes it is a well traveled box! My family is doing everything we can to be green! We need to protect this precious world that God has given us! Every time I am less then "green" in the children's eyes, I am quickly told! Love it!!!!

  5. TL, I wish I had kids to remind me. I think! I seem to remember that MY kids were like nattering little jays at times when they wanted something! OK, I could put up with it over being green!

    Love you!

  6. Yay for being green. When I was living in my house I did so good with recycling, but once I moved to the apartment I kind of got out of the habit. Now that I am in a small town, there is no recycling. I found a place in town where you can drop off your stuff, but I just need to get motivated to do that now.

  7. Caroline, it was easy at the house in KC, wasn't it? I miss that. Here, I have to drive into one of the towns and put things in the recycling bins, and it is a royal pain in the butt.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
