These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

OMG!!!

No wonder Jazmyn has been irritated!!! Look what I just pulled out of her eye!!!

It is, at least I think, a feather! It is so heavily gooped up with the ointment I've been slathering in the eye that it is almost indefinable.

The vet looked in her eye the other day, as well as he could, but with dogs you can't ask them to roll their eyes down and up, right and left, so we assumed whatever had scratched was gone.

She came to me a few minutes ago, and since it was time to do the eye again, I picked her up and the point was sticking out from under her eyelid. I pulled it out, worried about just what it was. As soon as it come out, she sighed a huge sigh!!! Poor little girl!

I put it beside a toothpick so you can see the size. although it looks pretty small, remember, in an eye, it is HUGE! Think of having that in your eye!

I cleaned the eye and put more ointment in it. When I put her down, she went immediately to the food bowl and ate a good amount, so I'm thinking she is feeling much better now.

Holy cow, poor little baby. I'm SO glad it is out.

  3. Pepper, I can't tell you how relieved I was to find that. I will give her a scratch for you. She has been coming to "check in" with me every few minutes, tail wagging. I think she is very happy!

Casey, me, too! I can't believe the poor thing has had it in the eye for almost a week! Can you imagine? Thank goodness I've been doing lots of the ointment!

  6. OMG!!!!!!! That reminds me of the time my friend's dog in Montana came home with porcupine quills all over himself- none in his eye, though, but still, it was traumatic and required the vet!

    Hugs,
    Betty

  9. (M)ary, I know. :'(

Sandra, I'm in a snit if I have an eyelash in my eye, and I can't even fathom putting up with what she had. Of course, dogs, have some extra protection for their eyes, but I know it wasn't enough, 'cause she was just miserable.
