She did it again! I started to go to the yard to get something, and Lola, the little stinker, scooted out under my feet, and went flying down the driveway! Fortunately, this time she did not go to the road, but just to the extreme front of the yard where she could smell the deer and elk poop that is all over the place out there. I grabbed a leash and went after her, steam boiling out of my ears!!I snapped the leash into her collar and we marched back to the house as fast as my legs would go! Her neck is three feet long now.
She says, "I'm sorry, Mommy."
I haven't forgiven her yet.
I will, of course, but not yet.

She is just like a toddler...
ReplyDeleteI am glad she didn't go very far. Sophie is better than (notice I am getting the word right now) she used to be. If we are walking now and I drop the leash she stops and waits for me. There is something good about her getting older.
I wonder if her and Pepper are somehow related James played retrieve the dog svral times today after she tried to eat the stray cats
ReplyDeleteseveral ( dang E)
ReplyDeleteShe does keep you on your toes, doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteShe is sorry, I can see it in her eyes.
Caroline, she definitely is! There are good things about older dogs. When I walk, Joey does not stray from my side, period. The only time he isn't right there is when he gets tired and lags a couple yards behind. And YAY, you!
ReplyDeleteBobbie, well, they are both spirited dogs. I 'spose that is enough relationship! Your E sticks? LOL!
Kim, yes, she does! Oh my, she has the "sorrowful eye look" down pat! And she uses it!
Poor little thing. I know what you mean though. My beagle is that way. If he gets a whiff of something - he's gone. She does look like she's sorry. --Cheryl
ReplyDeleteCheryl, you know, I didn't worry about her for a while, because she stayed right with me, but the last couple weeks, she has "wander lust"!! Little stinker!
ReplyDeleteYou just know that Lola thought it was fun... but you can also tell how sorry she is. You just gotta love them.
ReplyDeleteShe is so sad, you can't stay mad at her for long.
ReplyDeleteMJ, she is such a toddler I know she doesn't think past "Oh boy, oh boy, of boy!" until it is "oh dear, oh dear, oh dear!"
ReplyDeletePepper, no, I can't. She is just trying to enjoy life and doesn't get "the rules" yet.
