These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Uhhhh...

.
So far the "diet" is going OK. The Kids are doing pretty well with the rations. Just before bedtime Lola had a small hissy fit at the old, large, communal bowl which was empty. She put her front paws in it and attempted to dig a hole through it, apparently trying to find the food hidden in the basement of the bowl. So at bedtime, I relented and gave them each a couple extra treats. That seemed to make all of them happy, and the settles in for the night. Interestingly, this morning, Jazi was the only one who finished her food. The others ate 1/2 to 3/4 of their food before wandering off. Strange. Were they pouting? If so, not a smart thing! They won't have another chance till 6:00 this evening! I try not to look directly into their faces!

The heavy equipment is working today, but not full time. I think they must be about through. The seem to have stopped for a while. I'm not sure if that is for a break or because of weather. A few minutes ago the wind started blowing, and I noticed the sky is overcast as if we might get some rain. I hope so! It would be nice to get a little moisture.

Hmmm. I've gone completely blank. Usually I start writing like this and one thing flows to another, but today .... b.l.a.n.k. Well, OK, then, class is dismissed!

  1. love that she was digging in the bowl. food around our house is a big deal. addie chows like she is starving and riley is a grazer though we only feed two times a day. we pick up his food after a while since she would eat it all up if we let her. one time we had a partially open bag of his food and we came home and it was partially open. appeared she ate a LARGE portion of what remained in the bag. stinker! riley is finally over 70lbs!

  2. Grazing works for us, except Lola and Sam obviously graze a little more often than the others. Finding the right balance will happen, but not without a struggle, obviously. I'm laughing because Riley "is finally over 70lbs," and I'm needing to get these guys back under 15 lbs!!! LOL!!

  3. LOL about her digging at the bowl. I guess I am lucky that I am able to leave food out for Sophie all the time and she knows when to stop eating. I have no idea why I started doing this because growing up our dogs ate once in the morning and once at night.

P.S. I responded to your comment on my blog. :)

  4. I liked being able to just let them graze, but for now, it can't be. I'm hoping that once the are back where they need to be, Sam will be more comfortable and relaxed, and we can try the free feeding again.

OK, I'll go check it out.

  5. Hey, I love the new banner pic!
I am growing tired of hearing people who see Raleigh say "wow, look at the pregnant kitty" when they walk by her, so I might be joining the pet diet thing....

  8. Thanks, Julie, I like it, too. It is hard to see/hear our best friends being dissed, isn't it?

Bobbie, you're right, it's not fun for any of us. Funny that your cats do the same thing with their empty dish!

MJ, wouldn't they be the funniest hunting pair??
