Yeah, I'm at 7000 feet (some sources say almost 7200.) I'll have a foot or more. When I was in this house a month or less, I had a snow like this. And a house guest! It was actually fun. The snow was absolutely awesome, and was gone in about 36 hours, so my guest could leave to return home. That's the nature of the beast here. Beautiful, sometimes heavy, always quickly gone. I love it!
It is coming down really hard right now. I'm not going to do pictures. I've done enough that you guys know what it looks like. Perhaps when it reaches two or three feet I'll take some new ones, OK? ;D
The dogs have begun their crazy oh-look-it's-snowing behaviors. Cavorting in the snow out back, then ripping through the house to the deck then back again. I've already dried Lolita once. I'm sure there will be many repeats! I love it when they get so energized over the snow, even if it means drying them. And the floor. And a dozen towels! In fact, she just came in a second time to be warmed and dried.
She cracks me up!!
You talkin' 'bout me????
She's the one who likes to be covered up. after I took the other pictures, she snuggled down. She's still there, tucked in and snuggy, 30 minutes later!
Sam came in shortly after Lola, walking very gingerly, with snow packed in his paws, and very uncomfortable. So I wrapped him up, and within a couple minutes, he was conked out!
I think Sam is saying, "C'mon, Joey, share your body heat, buddy!"
I've already cleaned the snow out of the dish twice, just to stay ahead of it. If I let it get too heavy, it is a lot harder to remove the snow. As long as I have my TV and the computer, I'm good! Oh, and food. Food, I got!
I finally got my little Thanksgiving dinner done, so I have turkey, relish and pie to last more than this weekend. I also boiled the carcass and strained the broth for future soup stock, and made a small bit of gravy for hot open-face turkey sandwiches. I have milk and hot chocolate makings, including marshmallows, tea, coffee, the freezer is full, as is the pantry. Yep, I'm good!
