These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Happy hours with good friends

The deck was ready.

Both ends of it. Max approved.

And once the guests began arriving, the men did what men do ....

Sit away and on the most uncomfortable of furniture, I might add! There were comfy chairs and a swing, but no, they pick a hard wood bench and a folding chair! Men!

The women .... smart! Clustered around the chips and dips!

OK, there was one smart man. Allan joined the women, near the food. Boy ain't no dummy! Guacamole, chips, veggies and dip, wine. Yum!

And we talked and ate and drank until it was dinner time. Three kinds of ribs, potato salad, deviled eggs, a hominy and cheese dish, pickles, olives, jalapeƱos and more. Yum, yum! Then we talked and ate and drank until the dessert was served. A rich, moist chocolate cake and a creamy cheesecake with fresh blueberries on top. Yum, yum, yum!!

We talked till around 9:00 and folks began to gather up stuff and head home.

Life can't be much better, I think.

  5. Well Lyn I can see why you love your deck so much! You could live out there!
It is funny how the men are always on one side or in one room and the women on the other! Jake and I usually end up together and it throws everyone off!
The food sounded delicious! As a matter of fact, I am hungry now. After reading this I will have to go fix something!
So glad that your evening went so well! Love Di ♥

  6. Dakota, it was darn near perfect! We were missing a few good friends, but it didn't slow down our fun! I saw three of my guests today at various places, and every one of them said it was SO much fun!

Moni, it is a super deck! I have to say, though, I don't mind a little mess .... the friends and fun are worth it!

Caroline, it was all delicious! Sorry you weren't here!

    Pam, absolutely!! Bring 'im down!

Di, it was kinda odd last night that everyone separated like that, 'cause it doesn't usually happen in this group. We tend to be pretty integrated. Perhaps because the ratio was so far off last night? I donno. It was still a lot of fun!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
