These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

So much on my plate all the sudden

I'm so frustrated with the truck. Or rather than the truck, I'm actually frustrated with the people and machines that fix it. Or are supposed to. The "gas cap" and "check engine" lights keep coming on, and no one knows why. Today I had the oil changed. It was due, barely, so I thought perhaps I should get it done before going farther with the lights, knowing sometimes the oil needing changed can set off warnings. After changing it, the guy at the little local mechanics place, ran a diagnostic and all it told him is that there is some sort of problem in the fuel system, so he thought perhaps a leak along a line or something. He couldn't see anything in the areas that could be eyeballed. He replaced the gas cap several times without a "fix." Then he did it again, and it seemed OK. At least no light came on. Well, not until I drove a few blocks.

I came home to call the dealership in Alamogordo where I bought it. I asked to bring it in tomorrow, and was told that they can't get me in till Monday afternoon! I've been considering calling a dealer in Roswell to see if I can get in earlier, but I'm hesitating because I know the folks at the one in Alamogordo, and I'm not sure moving the date up to perhaps Friday is going to make much difference. Ugh.

I have a lot to get done in the next few days. I've had to write out a schedule and a list of tasks! Lawdy! I don't know how things crept up on me like this! I have SO much to get done. Luckily, there is no time limit on most of my list, but I want things done ASAP, because I know and you know that more things are just around the corner at all times! There is no rest for the wicked, and I must be a really evil person! bah, it's just that I've been busier than stink for several months now, and it is all catching up with me.

I need to talk to a woman about a possible part time job in Ruidoso that I kinda stumbled in to. She's not sure she needs another person, but I need to touch base with her in case she does. Do ya think I need more to do? Oh sure! Why not???

OK, I think I'll take a nap. that will help me catch up, won't it? LOL!

  1. I swear Lyn the more I read your posts the more I feel that we are alike! I always have things to do and really don't like sitting still knowing that there are things that need to be done! Wow, that was a mouth full!
The problem with newer model vehicles today is all of the electronics. Remember when you could just open the hood and find the problem with your own eyes and not a machine? Ah well I don't want to sound like an old fuddy duddy, so I'll shut up!
A nap sounds good, actually I think I will go to bed for the night soon!
    Luv Ya! Di ♥

  2. Di, I can sit, but I can only do that when I don't feel pressure from "things undone." I really do take days to vege out, and I love it!

As for cars .... AMEN!!! I used to help my dad with cars a little. I could do minor things myself, and now? The best I can hope for is to read the gauges right and hope they are accurate!!

  3. One of the best things about Cowboy is that he was a mechanic for years so he know cars. I don't have car worry anymore.

I always thought I would get a fun part time job when I retire.

  4. MJ, without the computer diagnostic equipment, is he able to do much? It would surprise me, and I'm not saying he isn't a good mechanic. It's just a pain in the butt!

  5. I hate vehicle issues!!! Good luck with them diagnosing the problem.

  6. Thanks, Daisy. I hope it isn't long or expensive. Gah.

  7. Oh Lyn, I hate to admit it, but these vehicle issues are best dealt with by guys! Most guys do not care to get grease on their hands and they seem to have infinite patience with cars. Gotta getch one, lol

  8. Moni, vehicles and wood decks, apparently!! LOL! Yeah, I guess I'd better go on the hunt!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
