These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Stuff & such

It has rained over an inch at my house in the last two hours. No kidding, it was really coming down. Lightning knocked out the power twice,  but only for a few seconds. Just enough to make everything electronic in the house  go beep and set Jazmyn into a shivering fit.

I can hardly believe the amount of rain we've had. I've tried to look it up, to see just how much moisture we've had this year, but in this rural area, it couldn't find anything that gave me a history of rainfall. My own rain gauge has shown about two inches so far this month, and I think  it was about 3.5 inches last month. Unbelievable!

After Dorothy and I made the rounds of the artists exhibits this morning, we stopped back to see Zoë. We has started out at her location this morning, and the other friend who was going to help her today hadn't shown up. Probably a miscommunication, like she might have thought I was going to be there both days or something (but I thought we had that clear; me on Saturday and her on Sunday). Anyway, I took Dorothy back to her car and returned to help Zoë. Today was much slower than yesterday, but I stuck around and helped her pack up and load her car. I enjoyed spending the time with her again. She is such a sweet lady.

I'm getting up early tomorrow to go to Alamogordo. The "Check Engine" light is back on in the truck, as well as the "Gas Cap" message. I don't know what they can do, but I'm determined to keep bugging them till they get it fixed.  I don't have any idea how long I'll be there this time. I hope it isn't an all day thing. I'm taking stuff to occupy myself, but I just hate sitting there all day. It is so boring, even with taking my "entertainment bag," (iPod, Kindle, puzzle books) it just isn't fun.

I'm tired. I think I need to go to bed. Night, all!

  1. Hi Lyn,
I hope they can find the problem with your pick-up. Our dealer will give us a ride somewhere if it something that will take long and then pick us up. But we live just a few blocks away. When having our car serviced, which is coming up here soon, I will probably sit in the t.v. room and read! This will be an expensive one for us but she's my baby!
I went zoe's website and she does have many beautiful pieces! It made me wish that I had that talent! We could use some of that rain here, it is so dry. And we're back to the horrible heat again. Love Di ♥

  2. Even though we haven't had that much rain in the last couple of weeks, overall it has been a very wet year. Last I heard we are over by 4 inches for the year.

  3. Di, I love that the dealership loans me a car. There isn't a good place to be dropped off in that town, at least, not that I know of. It makes it so much better when I have a long wait.

I love Zoë's work! She is just a great designed and craftsman.

Sorry your having heat again. What is going on with our weather patterns????

Caroline, I think most of the US has had elevated moisture this year. It's just nutz!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
