These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I finished the ramp. Well, I finished this particular project of the ramp. And I'm so tired.

It went OK except I found two more boards to replace and I had one hellava time cutting one board that had several tricky cuts to fit it in. But the ramp is nice and sturdy, and that was my main reason for this work.

I am just exhausted tonight. My body hurts all over. I won't be long getting into bed tonight, for sure. I showered when I finished, and then I couldn't think of anything to fix for dinner that was at the level of my energy! I finally decided some nachos sounded good, and it took me less than 10 minutes to fix.

Tortilla chips with Mexican cheese melted over them, and a fast salsa cruda, or raw salsa. just a chopped tomato, chopped onion, chopped green chili, chopped cilantro, and the juice of a lime, tossed together and sprinkled over the melted cheese and chips.

It is really tummy, and so much better than that awful orange glop that is put on most nachos. This is how I learned to make nachos more than 40 years ago.

I have little to say. I think I'm just too tired to even think tonight. But I have to share some beautiful whimsical clouds that I saw yesterday on the way into Capitan.

Aren't these fun?

They wrapped all the way from the West around the North and into the Southeast.

They were really pretty.

And now .... I gotta go to bed. Good grief! It's 8:16!! Maybe I'll just stretch out on the couch for a while ........

PS - I don't like that it is dark, completely dark, this early.   :(

  1. Beautiful pics of the clouds..they remind me of a storm brewing over the ocean and the waves thrashing up on the beach, or shore. Have a great sleep..tomorrow is another day..

  2. I feel very rested today, Ruth, and I'm ready for another day. But today will be spent much less physically!!

When I saw the clouds, my own thought was God looked at a nondescript little cloud in the sky and said, "That's boring," and drug his fingers through it, scattering it across the sky!

  3. Your nachos look soo good. One thing I am learning as I cook more is that things just taste better when I cook them myself. I haven't ventured into making my own salsa yet, but I know one day I will. I want to get one of those mini choppers so that I can cut everything up into little pieces. Right now I am able to get a 32oz cup of really good salsa from the local Mexican resturant for $3.

Glad you were able to get the deck finished. I know what you mean about being tired. Last night I could barely keep my eyes open at 9:30 and ended up going to bed. Of course I woke up at 1:30am wide awake, but a little bit of late night TV quickly put me back to sleep.

Hope you enjoy a lazy weekend.

  4. They were delish! Those mini choppers are good for some things, but I don't recommend them for chopping all things, as they tend to crush soft things, like tomatoes.

I'm so glad to have a day that I can just kick back. It is raining off and on, very gentle rain, making it the perfect day to do nuttin'!!

  6. Di, wait a few days, till you're back on your feet again, then you can have your salsa cruda!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
