More progress. Still a lot to do, but it's coming along.

I started this last year, using what was left in brushes or rollers to paint different parts. I hadn't finished it, however, and parts of it were still unpainted. This weekend I finished covering all parts and doing some of the decoration. I'm going to paint some designs on the sides and perhaps the top. |
|
There is a little bit of gold paint trimming some areas and although it doesn't look gold, the sun on the drawer is gold. It's really pretty when the real sun hits it. |
|
The trim looks a little gold here. I'll do more pix when I finish the decoration. |

This trunk is looking good, but I have a lot to do on it, also. The dark color is metallic grey/blue, and like the gold on the cabinet above, it looks really pretty in the sun. I'm not sure what else I'm going to do to it, but there will be flowers or crests or something like that on the top. This is where Jazi usually has a little dog cushion and she spends many mornings year round. It right under my front window, and she likes to look in and watch me while she soaks up the fresh air. |
Tomorrow I will go back to the other trunk I started on the other day. I had to stop and do some repairs on it, so it had to sit to let glue dry, etc. I'm not sure which one will be my next project after that .... two porch swings, the other bench, the metal storage cabinet, or two other trunks.
Other than that, I've had a very lazy weekend. I've watched some good movies and read and laid around as if I had time. Oh, come to think of it, I
do have time!!!! All the time in the world!
.... Life is beautiful!!!!
It looks like you are having fun with these. Life is Beautiful when you are doing exactly what You want!
ReplyDeleteGo girl!
You bet!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful talent. I love the deck furniture too. Sounds to me as if you are doing a lot with your life. Maybe it will encourage me to get more creative. Thanks for the photos.
ReplyDeleteFreda, I don't know if I'm talented or if I just persist until I get the effect I want! But thanks. It's fun for me. :)
ReplyDeleteBTW, I think everyone should be as creative as possible, and we should each act on the creativeness as often as possible. Go for it!
Cute cabinet!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Daisy May!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of fun projects Lyn. Your deck will be all "decked out" before long. :)
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say about necessity being the mother of invention .... I had the trunks and used them for storage of things that I just couldn't fit in the house (tools, pet grooming items, some large pots that I can't get rid of but use only occasionally), and since they are going to be there anyway, I figured they might as well look nice!
ReplyDeleteAs for the furniture, I needed to paint it to protect the wood, so, again, it might as well look happy!
I really like that cabinet Lyn. I could use a spare one! And the trunk brings back memories of two that my mother had many years ago. Don't know whatever happened to them! Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteThat was a microwave stand, made of good solid oak, but no room in the house, so I use it on the covered deck to store gardening tools and that sort of thing. Works beautifully! And now .... looks beautifully, too! LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe trunks are some that I came by from several sources, most of them circa WWII. They need some repairs, but I love them. they serve to store various things on my deck and when I have company, they make extra seating, too! I made a platform on wheels for each of them, which lifts them up the deck (protection from water/mold damage) and allows me to move them around easily as I need.
I believe is making use of everything possible and cutting down on wanton waste.
