Home. Tired. We did so much today!
We bought many goodies at the farmer's market, including arugula, cheese, endive, ginger root, many other things. Then to a health food store for some spices and teas. Then into downtown Waimea for some "me" shopping. I got a mu-mu (gorgeous!! and they gave me earrings as a bonus gift) and a sarong (equally gorgeous), a few souvenirs (I got some Hawai'ian petroglyph tiles for my tile table) a stop for lunch (a fish burger .... YUMMM!), and another stop for the most wonderful, creamy ice cream I've ever tasted (coffee chocolate chip and Tahitian vanilla, which I ate together).
On the way home we stopped several places where Dell loves the view and energy. I got pictures and will post them later, but for now, I just wanna chill. I took a shower when we got in, and now I have a glass of wine and some Japanese/Island treats. The world is good. :)
I am having so much fun!
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
It seems like you just left! Glad the trip went well. Did the dogs miss you?
ReplyDeleteI'm not "home" home, just home to Dell's after the day!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy you're having such a good time! And that ice cream? Sounds worth dying for!
ReplyDeleteYes, Jen, it was worth it!
ReplyDeleteSounds perfect Lyn, evidently dell is taking you to places that are away from the tourists haunts. Lucky you on the mu-mu and sarong. The tiles will be a great memory of your trip.
ReplyDeleteMoni, you're right about the style of "tour" I'm getting, and It's the best kind, IMO. We're catching the big sights, but he's throwing in many of the off-trail kind, too. Perfect! I agree on the tiles; those will be in my table as a lasting reminder of these days. Exactly what a souvenir should be, and these are moe permanent than any other I could think of. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a wonderful time! Funny...I have found that some of the best memories are not of the really big things you are "supposed" to see, but of the unexpected moments surrounding them. Seems like you appreciate those moments, as well....such as taking the time to enjoy a view, or taste some amazing ice cream.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you!
You are so right on with that, Dakota. Part of me wants to see some of the "biggies," but the greater part of me knows what I'm getting is better, the real life of Hawai'i. And girlfriend, you're only a tenth as happy for me as I am!! LOL!
