Rain near one of the mesas. It moved over the highway a while later. |
Those are volcanic cores. |
The colors! |
Nearer home I tried to capture this raincloud with the sunset colors on it. A bit blurry. |
Almost home! The moon was fabulous! |
I love living where I do. OH, I think I might have said that before. Oh well!
It really is beautiful. How long is the drive? I've made it before, but I have forgotten.
ReplyDeleteFrom Albuquerque to Farmington? About 2.5 hours, 160 miles, I think. It's still hard for me to believe it is 4 lanes the whole way. We used to drive the 2 lane monster and it was a booger!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Enjoy your day and cherish the memories of your class reunion. Can't wait to hear more about your post reunion adventures!!
ReplyDeleteMM, I'll probably let things simmer and incubate for a while to see where it goes. This will be a long distance relationship, and a slow one. Neither of us us in in a rush. Been there, done that and still paying for it! But there will be tidbits, I'm sure from time to time. :)
DeleteLovely photo's! I like it there too!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob! It is gorgeous. :)
DeleteTis very beautiful Lyn! Yes it must be nice to love where you live. If I ever get to live on the ocean, then I will truly love where I live!!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
Di, I wouldn't stay somewhere I didn't love. I realize people who are still working don't always have a choice, but There is no reason in the world to be unhappy in our surroundings! I wish you an ocean!!
DeleteWhat a beautiful part of the country! Looks like it goes on our "road trip" list!!
ReplyDeleteThere are lots of sights to see in the area, too, Dakota! When you plan it let me know! We'll meet up somewhere for lunch or ..... :)
DeleteFrom LC:
ReplyDeleteSuch beauty! In visits to those western areas, I always feel that the
land has been stripped of all nonessentials, revealing stark, grand,
imperishable beauty.
I have to say, though, if we are driving on our return trip to coastal
Mississippi, once we hit east Texas, the presence of abundant GREEN is
soothing to my soul. Some former desert-dwellers transplanted to our
area find so much green oppressive and the humidity unbearable.
LC, I have to say I'm one of those who can't tolerate humidity. I like green, but not enough to submit my body to the illness that follows the humidity! Since I grew up here in the Desert Southwest, I guess I'm just very fortunate to be back home. :)
DeleteI love that part of the country - to drive through!
ReplyDelete" - to drive through." I'm guessing it isn't your cuppa tea for living? I know, it's not for everybody, but I love, love, love it!
DeleteLinda, I should add that I love your part of the country, but it's the same for me .... I couldn't live there. I have a step-daughter on the peninsula across from Seattle, and I think the country is gorgeous, but the limited sunshine would be the death of me. I have SAD. :(
DeleteOne downside of living in Michigan is that it's such a drive to get out west. But we want to go again sometime soon. So pretty. It's nice to hear how you connected with old friends again at your re-union. Sounded like it was pretty special.
ReplyDeleteDave, fly and rent a car. It's well worth it. I love seeing other parts of the country so different from mine. I love living here, but visiting ....yeah, that rocks!
DeleteI've had great fun at every reunion, but obviously this one had the best-ever door prize!
