These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Aches, pains and healing

Is anyone else as tired as I am? I'm not sure what is going on, but it a lot of people around me have noticed it, too. I think things are just stressful everywhere, and it is trickling down.

Also, it has not been a good time for legs. I know that is a strange statement, but here's what I mean. A month ago my good friend fell and had many structural issues, a broken right ankle, a hairline crack in the left leg (femur, I think), three tears in the meniscus (soft tissue pad) of the left knee, and a torn ACL in the left knee. Then another dear friend twisted her knee about 2 weeks ago, without serious damage, but still has to be careful. Last week a third close friend was moving to a new house when her dog ran in front of her and she badly sprained her ankle. All last week, a coworker and I were having bad leg aches. I blame mine on FMS, and she has lupus, but a couple others were hobbling around on achy legs, too. What in the world is going on with legs??

I've been working on my friend, the first one I mentioned, with Healing Touch. She is getting around a lot better, and I'm not the only one to take credit. She has been blessed with a physical therapist from my office (a wonderful one), and several others working on her with various energy techniques. She goes to an orthopedic surgeon on Tuesday and will learn if she needs to have surgery. It is likely, especially with the ACL torn loose. The chances that it will heal without surgery is very slim. But we have all felt that we want to give the the optimal benefits of healing and strengthening ahead of surgery. She is able to move her legs much, much better now than three weeks ago. I'm telling you, the Healing Touch is amazing stuff.

I was reflecting back to when another HTPA (Healing Touch Practitioner Apprentice) and I did our work at the health fair in October. We both noted that of the various people we worked on, the Native Americans were by far the most receptive and accepting. I am sure it is because of their own spiritual practices and acceptance of the ideas about personal and universal energy. It isn't mumbo jumbo to them, and that makes it really easy and fun to work.

I recently recalled a time many years ago when my brother was interested in many metaphysical things. He visited our house and gave me some tapes called, I think, "Your Healing Hands." He told me that he felt I had the hands of a healer, that I had the ability to help others with their healing. I kinda went, "Yeah, uh-huh, OK." I eventually listened to them, but with half an ear. At the time, my focus was on my skills of healing with psychotherapy, healing the mental and emotional parts of people.

I called my brother on his birthday a couple weeks ago and I asked if he remembered the tapes and what he's said to me. He didn't, and added with a chuckle, "But I'm 81 years old! I forget a lot of things, you know." I refreshed the story for him and told him about what I'm doing now with the Healing Touch. I think it is an amazing circle that has come full around. I picked up a book borrowed from my mentor the other day, and guess what the title is? "Your Healing Hands"!! As I'm reading it, I often read something that sounds vaguely familiar, and I'm pretty sure it is the same thing. The circle is closed, or perhaps it is beginning the next cycle.

The longer I do this work, the more I love it.

  2. I love the way life works like that. Frequently, if we miss a message the first, or second, or 87th time, it comes back around until we finally "get it."
