These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Full work week

This has been a week from h..e..double hockey sticks!  Oh, I 'spose it hasn't been terrible, but I feel as if I haven't had time to breathe. That seems to happen on the first-week-full-week-after-a-holiday/vacation for me. I worked just 3 days and two halves in the two weeks and 3 days before I began this week of, uh, mmm, challenge. Nothing huge was wrong, but it just seemed that it was one little thing after another all week long. A person in a new position who is still trying to get the hang of the job caused several problems with misfiled, misdirected paperwork that completely fouled up my job. Another person and I spent most of one day and half of another running it all down. Sigh. Crazy making.

Every day has been cram-packed at work, and I've had a lot outside going on, too. I was out of the office half of Tuesday with an eye appointment (floater is almost gone and is at the low edge of my vision; retina is intact and there is minimal chance of damage now; glaucoma readings were perfect!). Wednesday was an appointment with my PCP, resulting in having an x-ray on my hip today to be sure the bones and cartilage are good before he injects the tendon at the hip next week. Monthly supervision with my HT mentor was another "extra" in the week, albeit a very pleasant one, so another couple hours blocked out. I ran a couple errands for a neighbor who has no car. All in all, I struggled to get everything done, and I did it! I brought home some work for this weekend. It is not a critical task, but one of detail work that if I can get it out of the way, next week will be much more smooth sailing.

THE WIND!!!!!  It started blowing last night, and let me tell ya, this place was rockin'!! The metal roof and the metal cover of the deck were popping and snapping like crazy!  All the dogs were kinda cautious, looking at the ceiling or the windows from time to time. But when things really went to doo-doo was when a huge, strong gust hit the house and popped off the snap-on cover of the dog door and it flew about three feet! Jaz has not been afraid of wind before, but after that, she was a nervous wreck. Since the wind blew all night long, she was anxious all night. Several times I woke and found her outside on the step of the dog door. I'm guessing the cold and the wind out there was preferable to the magnified popping of metal in here. I gave her some of the Bach Rescue Remedy drops, and it was better. This morning I gave her another dose and a neighbor came by and dosed her again around noon. She seems fine this evening. But, of course, the wind is down now, too.

The sky was blocked all day. Dust was so bad that you couldn't see the mountains, even when you were almost at the foot. There was a little light snow around noon, but it didn't amount to much and just blew all over the place. The remaining snow on the ground from the last snowfall was white yesterday. Today it was brown! Ick.

I would always prefer my life to be busy than to twiddle my thumbs in boredom, but I'm thinking this week was just a tad over the top. I'm looking forward to a weekend of rest!

  1. It is nice when all is in balance. But then you cannot appreciate the good times if you don't have the bad times.

  2. I've been thinking a lot lately about how busy life is. It seems there's always something that needs to be done. I long for a week with "Nothing" to do. I'd be crocheting non stop!!
I imagine the winds are stronger there because of the mountains, although I'm not sure on this. My dogs hate thunder.
I hope that you have a very peaceful, relaxing and uneventful weekend Lyn!
    Love Di ♥

    1. My life is laid-back, compared to many I know, but when I actually count what I've done on any given day, it amazes me.

As for the wind .... I'm not sure it's "cause," but I know that being on the eastern face of the mountain, it seems to come over the top and then gain speed on the way down!

Heading out in a while to some casual fun with friends. Yay!!!

  3. It was really windy here too. I watched the clouds blow thru on Friday morning. I have never seen the clouds move that fast! It was spooky, like God hit the fast forward button.

    1. The wind was spooky here, too. Occasionally we have these nutty weird weather days that just astound me.

I like your "fast forward" analogy. Seen that before, myself!

  4. I hope you had a restful weekend. I have used Rescue Remedy for our pups in the past. Great stuff! Another thing to add to my list of "Plan to Study" - Animal Communication, Healing Touch for Animals and herbal treatments for animals. They all really seem to go together....

Hope it is a good week for you. I will check on FB for updates. :)

    1. My weekend was awesome. Very rest-filled! I love Rescue Remedy. It has given us all peace of mind in this house!

Once I'm certified in HT, I want to take the animal training, too. I like your plan. Those do fit well together. Do you plan to do something with them professionally, or just enrich your life and the lives of your 4-leged friends?

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
