OK, the floor pictures. Starting with . . . .
. . . the before of the area that I was most worried about.
. . . the "during" stage of sanding. I was still worried. The spots still showed.
THE AFTER!!!!!
The living room before . . .
. . . and after.
The other end of the living room before . . .
. . . and after.
A problem area that needed the pine boards replaced with oak . . .
. . . and after.
This area was cut terribly roughly and crooked (previously covered with carpet) . . .
. . . and "during repair" while being made presentable . . .
. . . and after.
No comparison picture, just a shot of the hallway that shows how awesomely it was finished.
I'm happy!
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
Isn't it amazing what they can do? I had to have this done at my old house and I was thrilled with the results too.
ReplyDeleteThat must feel good!!! What's prettier in a house than beautiful wood floors??
sandra - mmmmmmmmm, yes. They feel wonderful under my feet. Wish I'd had it done long ago so I could have enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteWow! So shiny and pretty! :)
ReplyDeletejen - Nothing much better than clean, new "anything," is there? I'm enjoying them for a short time, at least.
ReplyDeleteWow! They are beautiful and so worth the hassle, aren't they?
ReplyDeletewow that is AWESOME. I heart hardwood floors! My next house I want to be an "old" house. I have no interest in new ones.
ReplyDeleteThe floors look GREAT!!!! I can't believe the difference. That is going to be a huge selling point.
ReplyDeleteragged - Oh, yes, they are! I recall that you did this not long ago, so you understand just how rewarding it really can be. I love them.
ReplyDeletepatti - A few months ago I would have said the same thing. I would have considered an older, fixer upper (within reason). Now I'm tired of fixer-ing!! The beauty and character of older homes warms my heart, but I would have to refurbish the bathroom to be somewhat of a "garden" bath, and have BIG closets. No big deal!!!! hee hee
caroline - I couldn't believe they would get those stains completely out! He did an awesome job! Let me know if you want his name & # before I leave.
I'm glad the floors are done and you can come enjoy the NM weather soon. Now that you're back, I feel like the summer reruns are over and we can enjoy your new, and always interesting, posts. :)
ReplyDeleteAMAZING
ReplyDeletewow!(-:
ReplyDeletelooks great.
are you moving now?
why is it people fix up their houses right before moving so other people can enjoy it??
Awesome floors, Lyn! Nothing beats a good floor job. I'm happy that you're happy. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing more beautiful than a hardwood floor....except our children and grandchildren.
ReplyDeletethe floor looks great. i like to see some one that gets satisfied with a job . most of the time things go bad but it looks fantastic.
ReplyDelete3s - Yes, indeed! I'm going to be there for the fall colors (if there are any with the drought). I'm invigorated and excited, to say the least!
ReplyDeleteold - Isn't it??
m - I'm leaving very soon. You know, I would have refinished the floors long ago if I'd known jkust how beautiful they were! But you're right. The best part for me is that I will have wonderful memories or how beautiful the house looks now. That's a good thing.
catherine - Thanks. It feels good to feel happy and be looking forward to my new life. The floors are kind of a "springboard" to that, I think.
seven - you have just uttered a most profound statement. Yes, and yes.
mrhaney - I've been fortunate in most everything I've hired done. And the ones I've done myself have been sometimes frustrating, but magnificent training and definitely self-satisfying.
That looks fabulous!!!
ReplyDeletesassy- Thanks! I'm enjoying seeing the ol' house like this. Even without furniture, it feels the best it has in a long, long time.
