These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

The Cuteness

I saw this in the paper this morning, and I thought I'd pass it alone. If you're an animal lover, this is a very cute blog. A nice stress breaker! The Cuteness

BTW, I am in a little better frame of mind and body and able to get things done today. I got a good night's rest. Amazing what appropriate rest does for us! This will probably be my only message for the day, because I'm trying to make up a little of yesterday's losses. Have a good weekend, everyone.

PS - I just stepped outside to retrieve my recycle bin from the curb and noticed that, although it fairly warm (lower 80s, I think) I can tell it is fall. I can smell the turning of the leaves in the air. I know that is a strange statement, but literally, the scent of drying leaves hangs there. Mmmmm.

  1. Glad you got a better nights rest. Rest does make all the difference in the world. I, too, can smell fall. In the mornings when I go out with Sophie I can really tell that fall is just around the corner. Our little tree in the front has a few red leaves. Before we know it, the whole thing will be red.

  2. I've been living in the south - Florida and now the southwest - NM for the past years and miss that smell from growing up in the north. I know exactly what you mean - it is such a satisfying smell. Thanks for reminding me. :^)

  3. Fall is my favorite season..I can feel it in the air! The leaves are already turning brown and starting to fall off the big oak tree in the backyard.
Oh, and no I didn't get a camera yet. I appreciate the suggestions, but I think I might have to wait until Christmas to get one because my funds aren't looking too good right now! But it will make a nice present for myself!

  4. caroline - Doesn't it smell good? mmmmmm.

ilias - Are you still in the Santa Fe area? There will definitely be a "change" in NM. My son is in the south-central maountains, near Ruidoso, and is seeing some turning now. My nephew in the Las Vegas area says he thinks I'll be there in time to see the changing in early Oct. So hold on, it's coming your way, too. I've never seen the fall colors in the upper northeast, and I understand it is spectacular. What part of the north are you from?

jen - Fall is my favorite, too. I like winter, too, if it isn't too gloomy, the reason I don't like it here. About the camera, here is another thought . . . until you get the digital, you can take pictures with your existing camera and have them put on a CD at developing. Then you can upload into your computer that way.

  6. tl - I know you do. But you wouldn't give up your permanent vacation home would you? Maybe when you (or Kirk) are rich and famous, you can live in the north for a month or 2 in the fall! And I love you, too, baby girl!!

  8. tol - I'm so glad you got some relief. This has been a brutal summer, hasn't it? Hey, I have a niece in Allen. When I get settled and begin doing some of the travelling I want to do, she is one of my priorities. I'll let you know when I do, and perhaps we could meet for lunch or something of the sort!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
