These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

2006

Last year held a lot of challenges for me, and most of you have read about them. I'm not going to rehash. Instead, I thought I'd list the good things the things I've learned about my life. Lots of good things have happened for me this year, I've enjoyed blessings I didn't recognize before, and I'm so happy that these things are becoming conscious parts of my everyday.

I learned . . .
  • that I'm not too old to learn new things!
  • that I am stronger than I had any idea I could be.
  • that I am resilient, I can bounce back from just about anything that slows me down.
  • that the energies I release into the universe return to me, so focusing on making those energies gentle and positive makes my life easier.
  • that when I make my life easier I also make the world around me nicer for others I encounter.
  • that I am creative in ways that I didn't suspect.
  • that I have many friends.
  • that I'm making new friends every day.
  • that there is joy in every day, but I have to be willing to look for it sometimes.
  • that some of the smallest pleasures have the longest lasting rewards.
  • that it's not too late to learn new skills or to improve on old ones.
  • that it's never too late for anything.
  • that all things have a purpose, and I don't have to understand what that is.
  • that wherever I am, whatever I am doing, whatever/whoever is around me, I am in control of myself, and I have choices.
  • that every challenge is a gift, but I have to unwrap it.
    and . . . .
  • that every day I can have as much as I want, but I need to be careful that what I ask for because I may get exactly that.
I wish for each of you that 2007 brings exactly what you need, no more, no less, and that a year from now your list of life events feels as good to you as mine does to me right now. Happiness and peace be yours.

Blessings in the New Year!

  1. your insights, make me want to write mine down.

Just the act of sitting down and looking back at the year seems to big and daunting.

Sometimes we need distance to see things clearly, so maybe that's what i need before i can view 2006 clearly!

  2. fatty - I hope the list has that effect on others. The items are vry personal to me, but I wrote them as non specifically as I could so that others might be touched by them. I don't like New Year's resolutions, but I do think it is good to reflect about the year past before moving on. If one doesn't know what he/she wants to be different, then the chart can't be plotted for change. All in all, I'm pleased with last yeaar, and my major change is to finally get settled in my own home, then continue to expand the good things in my life. What more could I want?

  5. Caroline - I'm also honored and priviledged to have had you as a neighbor, a friend, and a supporter. Thank you.

Patti - You're certainly part of the number counted in the friends. My life is fuller than I can say for the people in my life, regardless of their location, the length of time in my world, or the role they play. Thanks for being part of that circle of friends.

  7. Cheryl - It is good to know that it inspires a few out there. I think that is what life is really about . . . teaching and learning. And we all should do both, not just one. Thanks for stopping by.
