These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Day Two

Ugh. I'm tired! The good news is that we got everything into the storage unit this evening. YAY!!! All that is left to do at the house now is to clean up the mess of what is left behind, you know, the litter and odd little things that are left behind when you clean out a house. It is all in the garage and the shop, so it will be fairly easy. I'll tackle that in the morning and get it all bagged up and out for trash pick up, which is fortunately tomorrow.

Tomorrow will be spent finishing up a couple business items, closing utility accounts, etc. I will close at 5:00 and then Caroline, Laura and I are invited to another neighbor's for a lasagna dinner. I'm trying to figure out what my emotional state will be tomorrow. I'm having some mixed feelings, but mostly I'm glad to be at this stage. I noticed today that there are some bitter-sweet memories (I walked past the area under the grape arbor where all our pets have been buried, and I regret having to leave them behind; I remembered the fun times with the kids around the fireplace; I thought of the time spend building the deck together.), but I've let go of the hold of the house. I'm delighted that it is done. It is time to move on.

I have enjoyed the time with C & L. We have laughed a lot. And their help has been a blessing in so many ways. I'm really glad we had this time together. If I'd stayed at a motel or something different, I wouldn't have had the companionship and "wind down" time such as I have enjoyed here. Life is good, and when you are with dear friends, it just gets all that much better.

Once again, I may not post tomorrow or Saturday. It depends on how things go. But I'll let you know within a few days about my adventures over the next few days. I'm looking forward to getting back to NM and tying up those loose ends, too. Just a couple more steps, and I'll be home to stay. Well, until I have the opportunity to travel, but trust me, it will soon be possible for me to travel because I want to, because it is fun! Ahhhhh. Yes, indeed, life is very good.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
