These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Got Books?

My book club disbanded a while back, and I need some good titles. What are you reading? Is there a recent book that you enjoyed? Or what is your favorite book to recommend?

Thanks!!

  2. What are you interested in? What type of books, who are favourite authors?

I just finished Elizabeth Gilbert's "Eat, Pray, Love" which was excellent. And I finished Ann Patchett's biograph "Truth & Beauty" about her relationship with author Lucy Grealy. I loved Gail Godwin's "The Queen of the Underworld". I read Sylvia Plath's "The Bell Jar" (one I thought I'd read by hadn't), and I'm now reading "Literacy and Longing in L.A." by Jennifer Kaufman and Karen Mack.

  3. Currently I am rereading Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund. Lovely book. On my nightstand are three books I just finished. Night by Elie Wiesel (another reread), All The King's Men by Robert Penn Warren. He has a wonderful way of writing, excellent command of the english language and finally Eva Moves The Furnitue by Margot Livesey. That last one is a bit of fluff but a good read.

  4. I just finished reading "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian." I am now IN LOVE with the author Sherman Alexie. (Then again I always fall in love with good authors.) It's such a sad, funny, poignant little book. I finished all 230 pages in one sitting.
