***NOTE***
I'm post dating this to keep it at the top until 4/21, the date I will draw names. Be sure to scroll down for current postings!!
A few weeks ago I got a package in the mail. It was from Catherine, her gift to me in the Pay It Forward "game."
"Pay it forward" is a custom in which a creditor who offers the debtor the option of paying the debt forward to a third person instead of paying it back. Debt and payments can be monetary or by good deeds. A related transaction, which starts with a gift instead of a loan, is alternative giving. (from Wikipedia)
It works a little different in Bloggerville.
Some bloggers play it so that the first three who comment on a blog are recipients of a gift, usually homemade or handmade (that isn't essential if you can't find time, but it is definitely the best and most meaningful). Others take all the names who commented to a specific post and draw names. Catherine chose the second method, and I think I will follow suit. This will give an equal opportunity for everyone to win, regardless of their time zone/rising time/bedtime. So......
I will send a handmade gift to 3 people who leave a comment on my blog requesting to join this PIF exchange. The names will be drawn by a friend, not yet designated, one week from the date of posting. I don’t want to reveal just yet what that gift will be, and you may not receive it tomorrow or next week, but you will receive it within 365 days, which is my promise! The only thing you have to do in return is pay it forward by making the same promise on your blog.
So .... Are you ready? If you want to be a participant in the Pay It Forward game, leave a comment here with your intentions to follow through with gifts for three more lucky people. Are you set to play? OK, here we GO .....
I would love to play.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea. I so want to play along and will do a post about this in the next few days.
ReplyDeleteCasey & Caroline, you're both in!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday from north of the border. I would love to participate but unfortunately NO BLOG.....NO PLAY PIF, but it sounds like a lot of fun. I will enjoy watching the results.
ReplyDeleteRuth
Will it help if I comment twice? (I feel like I have tried to play this game before?? )
ReplyDeleteRuth, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHmmm. let me think about if there might be a way to play without the blog. I'll get back to you, OK?
Caroline, no, one chance per customer!! If you've played it, it wasn't at my blog. I don't remember seeing it at your blog, either. ???
I meant commenting more to increase my chances of winning.
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely love to play!!! Put me in the hat (or wherever else you might put our names). I can already think of some handmade things I could make!!
ReplyDeleteFun, fun...

Cameo, your name is in, too! And it was a fun day!
Daisy-doodle-doo, I put you in the mix! Hey, I can't believe how many Aries showed up in the last couple days. Aren't we in good company? :)
Okay i'll play but you'll have to school me on what I have to do should I win :)
ReplyDeleteSuper cool idea! Count me in, Lynilu! I love the handmade gift idea. Ooh, this is going to be gooooood!
ReplyDeletePatti, consider yourself in!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, alrighty, you're in the pot!
I am a new reader, but would love to be part of this contest.
ReplyDeleteBen, being new isn't going to stand in the way, but playing requires having a blog in order to pass it on, or "Play It Forward." I'm trying to think if there is a way to include people like yourself and Ruth, but the stumbling point is that your own blog is important for people to come to and play the game at your blog, the next step of the game. If you will email me at lynilu@yahoo.com, I'll let you know if I can think of a way to include you, OK? :)
ReplyDeleteOh, lynilu....i really fooled you...this is Benny Hill...You know..Caroline's Ben...she told me to comment to make her chances at winning better.
ReplyDeleteI'll play :)
ReplyDeleteBad Caroline, BAD, BAD Caroline!!! Keep Ben away from the computer! Be a responsible cat-mom!
ReplyDeleteAnnie, okey-dokey!!
I'm in (got in barely, huh) and I'll even give you a suggestion of the gift. One of your photographs, signed by you, would be a wonderful gift.
ReplyDeleteKathi, you're on the list, too!
