These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Another PS

A couple updates on my earlier posts. Some things that happened since then.

I mentioned in the earlier post about the little twin bucks' antlers being nearly a foot long, but I was mistaken. Apparently that was one of the older bucks. This afternoon I looked out and there was one of the twins grazing just about 15 feet from the window.

I took this through the window, so it isn't the best quality, even though I edited it a little to attempt to show you. His little horns are about 4-6 inches long.

The other thing was about the birds. Remember the two little birds, probably sparrows, taking shelter on the deck? Well, when the rain let up, all the birds came out and flocked to my feeders. What was so funny is that I believe I had every bird int he neighborhood out here, and they were lined up on the handrail around the deck. They were all chattering like crazy! It was actually raising quite a ruckus! I knew I couldn't get the camera and be close enough to the door or even the window to video it without scaring them away, but I watched them for a couple minutes with amusement. It seemed to me that they were like a bunch of old ladies, gathering at the town square and all talking over one another! Many of them had their heads almost straight up, and they were more or less walking around each other on the railing, a very animated scene! I could almost hear them saying,

"Can you believe that rain?"
"No!! It doesn't rain like that here!"
"I know, what is going on?"
"Got me, but when Herman gets home tonight, he's got some repairs on the nest."
"So does my George, and he hates that kind of thing."
"Serves them both right for going off to town with a storm coming in like this."
"Yeah, you'd think they know better."
"Oh, men."
"I hear that!"

I had to laugh at the bird chatter .... and at me for imagining all that! LOL!!

  5. Great chatter, I'm sure animals communicate and I would love to know what they have to say.

  6. MJ, me, too! It is fun to think about what they might be saying by their behaviors. Sometimes, with my dogs, I'm not really sure I want to know!!! You know, "if looks could kill"!

  7. There is a small get together in a tree near my house occasionally, I like to think of it ias a bird cocktail party.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
