These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

And All That Jaz

I'm home. Another 12 hours on the road. I'm tired. The trip was uneventful for the most part. It rained about half the way home, which was wearying. The long drive on Saturday left me with a knot in my back, then sleeping two days on a horribly hard mattress at the motel left me with a back spasm. I bought one of those thermal wraps, and I was completely comfortable on the return trip. Yay!! Whatever, I'm home and safe.

I picked up Joey and ..... Jazmyn! Meet our new lady.......

Isn't that little face precious?

Both traveled well, although Jazi wanted to sit on my lap most of the time. She is so petite that I could actually drive with no problem, but I don't think that is the best idea. I haven't weighed her, but I'm guessing she will be about 9 or 10 pounds. She is a real sweetheart! She has been deliciously spoiled for the past couple weeks in the home of the shelter owner, and they feel in love with her. I can understand. I'm already there, myself!

Jazi, China, and Joey. Jazi looks larger than she is because she was at the edge of the bed, leaning as far out as she could. She's actually much snaller than the others.

And she has taken up residence on the computer! If not on my lap, then on the laptop!!!

Joey was so happy to see me when I arrived to bring them home. I picked him up, and his little curly tail just went crazy and he was licking my face rabidly! Then when we got home, he was equally happy to see Max and Sam. The three of them went running through the house, tumbling all over themselves and acting silly! All six dogs are getting along just fine. Everyone has accepted Jazmyn without a question. Of course, what's not to like?? She is adorable!

The funniest part is that Max seems to be completely smitten with little Jazi. He is acting like a teenager in love, google-eyed and goofy! He follows her around, making his funny little noises. I got a video of it. It's not the best picture, but listen to his vocalizations. This cracks me up! (The barking in the background is Ali and unrelated.)

More later!

MaƱana!!!

PS - Right after I published that, I looked over and saw Joey and Jazi snuggled up. Altogether, now ......

Awwwwwww!

  1. I am so glad that you made it home safely and that all the babies are finally home with you.

I love that last picture of Joey and Jaz. You can tell that they love each other and are glad to be back together.

Has Joey had a talk with Max yet that Jaz is his girl? :)

  3. Caroline, it is very good to be home and have all of them together. I was beginning to feel like it would never come together.

Kim told me that the two nights she had Joey, he would not sleep in a crate by himself. She had to let them be in the same crate, and then he was OK. Since we've been home, he has relaxed a lot. In fact, he seems fine with Max's attentions to her! LOL!!

(M)ary, LOL! Oh, yeah, I think it is like teen age puppy-love with some youthful lust thrown in! He was neutered about 7 weeks ago. I guess he might still have some testosterone running there? He's being a gentleman about it, thank goodness! He's not, uh, acting horny, just trying to get her attention!

  5. MQ, I can't wait for you to meet the New Kids! So, when are you coming for a visit?

I was stunned and broken-hearted for Sandra's loss. We all know we will face it, but it's never easy. :'(
