These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Foray or Sashay?

This morning, still new at 9:00, is being spent just as I like it. I got up 7ish, put the dogs out, fed them, made coffee, caught a little of the morning news, then retired to the deck with a cuppa Joe. Ahhh. The Boys and Jazi are having a play-date out here, and seem to be enjoying themselves a lot. Such a pleasant morning.

The sky is unblemished blue this morning. We may have some rain this afternoon or early evening. I wouldn't mind that, as long as it isn't a gully-washer. Tired of those. Yesterday I reseeded a few blank spots in the back yard, and a gully-washer (or should I say, a grass seed washer away-er) just won't do, thank you very much! The mountains are a bit hazy this morning, and I see a wisp of clouds beyond them. It's a gorgeous sight. I'm not doing pictures, because I'm lazy and you've seen the mountains in at least a dozen shots, anyway! Yeah, yeah, yeah. So sue me!

In a couple hours I will be hopping in the shower and getting dressed for a lunch date. Yep. Today is the day. I'm meeting The Guy for lunch. I chose a restaurant that is near the village of Lincoln. I've never eaten there, but I've heard really good things about it. I selected it for several reasons .... obviously (1) for it's good reputation, (2) because it features foods grown on their own property (organic fruits and veggies and meats from their own livestock with no hormones or antibiotics), (3) because it is a little out of the way, there is less chance of running into people I know! To eat in Capitan would almost assure that I'd bump into several people I know and set the town buzzing. Privacy, thank you very much!

The Guy is driving three hours to get here. If there is a long-term to this, that could be a bit of a nuisance at times, but not unmanageable. On the other had, if sparks don't fly, the good thing is that neither of us has to risk the awkwardness of running in to each other! Reasonably win-win.

Once I know his likes/dislikes in entertainment, there are a number of possibilities that are somewhat in between us, too. A college town give promise of several things, including a fine arts program at the university with some theatrical performances, music presentations, etc. A wildlife refuge in the area offers some nice photography. A huge observatory near the town is something I've wanted to go see. He lives in a town on a lake, so I know there are some activities probable there. So, assuming there are some "next times," there are plenty of possibilities between here and there.

So, it just remains to be seen whether there is a compatibility component with us. Who knows? LOL! "Only The Shadow knows"!!!!

Yes, of course, I'll give you an update later. But allow me time for my own digestion of the situation, OK? Another of my big firsts is going down, this foray into the dating world. Actually, I hope it is more of a sashay than a foray!! I'll let you know.

Later!!
