These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Information

In doing the volunteer work, I've been surprised and dismayed about what people know, or more correctly, don't know, about the candidates and their platforms. And I must say that the ones who are misinformed or flatly ignorant have been from that other party. Since I was calling as a volunteer from the Obama campaign, I'm not surprised that that group didn't want to hear me out, but they should. I wasn't giving any long winded speeches, but simply one line replies and information about where to check it out (mostly non-partisan sources). Too bad, really too bad. We have a nation of closed minds and uneducated voters out there. And they have the same right as you and me to cast their votes.

KEEP SPREADING THE WORD. CONTINUE GIVING OUT WEBSITES AND SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE. DON'T BE PUSHY (turn off to most of us); BE INFORMED AND INFORMING. YOU WON'T WIN OVER EVERYONE, BUT YOU WILL BE HEARD AND YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

Do you have any questions about the Obama platform, The Blueprint for Change? If so, just go here and you can read every word, check any issues you wish: http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ There is no reason to wonder, it's all right there.

Then .... SHARE IT WITH EVERYONE YOU KNOW!!! Email it, post the link on your own blog, print it and hand it out, read it and talk about the points.

And here is an interesting blog: http://www.timegoesby.net/ I read this on a regular basis. This blog addresses issues for "elders" in our country, but please, don't let that make you think it won't be applicable in your life. Please take a look. There is a lot of information that is pertinent to us all.

There is an interesting, informative video, albeit, a bit long, about Palin in the post for 9/28/08. It has to do with her experience for the office for which she aspires. It is one hellava collection of information about the experience of the Vice Presidents of our nation since the beginning, and you will be surprised, I think.

Just five weeks (5) and two (2) days till we vote!!!

  4. Beans, nope! Not me!!

(M)ary, that is interesting. And it fits with a basic assumption we are taught in Social Work, that change is difficult for us to make, even when it is a positive change.

  5. Politics are such a hot button for so many people and they don't care to find out the real deal.

  6. RubenH, funny? Scary funny, yes. I'll be over to read your blog soon, to help me understand your comment.

MJ, it is, and I'm one of them, but .... BUT, I read and research. I don't mind if someone has a different opinion and cant tell me why, but I'm intolerant of uninformed ramblings. But I'll bet you already knew that! ;D

  7. I find there are some people who vote the party and that's it. I have relatives and know people in both parties that will not hear anything against said party or for the other.

I think they call it ignorance. :o)

  8. Jen, that is my point in most of my sermons and rants about the political climate. If people vote opposing me, so be it, as long as they know why they are voting as they are.

Ignorance + politics = emotional decision making. Not good.

  9. Oh, Patti, thank you! Hearing that makes it worthwhile! I just want people to know more, know what they are voting about and for.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
