These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Tagged and Tagging

I was tagged by Bradley over at the Egle's Nest. He's a nice guy, but I have to say he just doesn't understand one thing about me. When my blog is as open as it is, there just aren't too many things I've not already told all of you, plus I've already done this one a couple times! This is a laborious task!!! But as I said, Brad is a nice guy, so I won't hold this against him. This time. But next time .....

LOL!

7 interesting things you might not know about me...

1.) I have lived in five states; in seven towns, on one farm and one mountain; and in nineteen homes in my life.

2.) In my travels I've visited 33 states; 15 foreign countries (counting Caribbean Islands). I've yet to make it to Europe, Asia,
Australia or Africa, but I'm still working on it, as well as the last 17 states.

3.) In my senior year of high school, I tried out for a part in the class play. I didn't really want to be in the play; I tried out because my friend was and I was more or less bored while waiting. I was horrified when I was selected for a lead part and did everything I could to get out of it. I couldn't, however, and before it was over, I thoroughly enjoyed playing Bianca in "Taming of the Shrew."

4.) I took piano lessons for around 6 years and was pretty good before I discovered boys and begged to quit the lessons. I also played the violin for 8 years and played every percussion instrument in the band except the snare drum for 4 years. Now I just play hell on a little tin drum. :)

5.) I've written my autobiography. I still add or make some changes from time to time, but it is essentially finished. No, it's not for publication, but for my children to help them know more about who I am, why I am who I am, and therefore, who they are.

6.)
I have one of the more rare blood types, B-. I hope I never need a blood transfusion in this remote area, 'cause chances of finding a donor are slim!

7.) I was once (hold onto your socks, 'cause they're about to be blown off!!) registered as a Republican!! I know, I know! But in my defense, it was when I first registered (back then you had to be 21 to vote ..... yeah, I'm that old!) and my hub was Rep. Also Lyndon Johnson was making a mess of things, and although I adored John Kennedy before him, I couldn't stand LBJ. Since those first few years, I've been a recovered Republican, AKA Democrat.

I am tagging the mandatory seven people ...Caroline, Patti, MJ, Daisy, Beans, Julie, and Melissa. And anyone else who is interested. Let me know when you post your list!

  4. First, I thank you profusely for not tagging me! I dislike being tagged, usually ignore it and then feel guilty!

But these 7 things really were interesting and now you've got me wondering how many different places I've lived in or visited.

I think it's fantastic that you've written your autobiography! I want to do that too, although The Child probably won't have any interest in it until I've kicked the bucket. I wish I had used the past 6 months (being unemployed) to do that or something equally rewarding. Instead I focused on job seeking. Now my former job has been revived and I start back this week, although at a lower salary due to across the board cuts.

I think you can receive type O blood, can't you? It would probably have to be rh negative, though.

    Hugs,
    Betty

  5. Beans, 'sawright!

Betty, I actually feel like that about being tagged, too, but I usually go ahead.

Now that it got you thinking, you can use some of these things as ideas for posts in your blog!

Know what? If you just write a little 2-3 nights a week, you'd be surprised how quickly it begins to add up. Do it, even if it is random thoughts and memories that later you pull together into something more organized. Do it for The Child. :) And BTW, if you never organize it, he will appreciate the memories, nonetheless. One day!

Yes, I think that is true about O- blood, but they do that only as the very last resort, I believe.
