Lolita is a very smart little girl. She picks up on things quickly.
We have a bedtime routine. I say, "Let's go to bed," and everyone scurries toward the bedroom. I put on my pajamas, brush my teeth, then each of my babies gets two little treats out of a big plastic jar that sits on the floor beside my night table.. While they eat those, I do any last minute things such as putting clothes in the hamper. Then we all hop into the bed and snuggle down.
However, on occasion, Little Missy seems to think I take too long to get to that precious moment of opening that magic jar. So she goes over to it, sits beside it and puts a paw on top of it, then looks up at me. If I don't pay attention, she sort of taps on it while watching me. And if that still doesn't work, she starts dragging it around on the floor, making the treats rattle around noisily, stopping occasionally to look at me as if to say, "Don't you get it yet?" I've purposely fiddle-faddled around a little bit to watch and enjoy her antics, and tonight she introduced another step. When I didn't respond to all her usual stuff, she got down onto the floor with her butt up in the air and looking straight at me, she let out several little throaty growls, and finally, as if she couldn't contain it, followed up with a sharp yap!! And as if the little vocal explosion unleashed something, she began just bouncing all over the floor!
She got her treat!
Do you think I'm teasing her a bit too much?
Nahhhh.
.
No. She is such a neat little dog. Such a character. She could start her own blog. You are so lucky to have her.
ReplyDelete:) Yes, she is, and yes, I am.
ReplyDeleteCats are just as equally smart. They start pestering Mike at 7 for treats if he doesnt shake the container they meow and carry on like crazy and buford will ask to go outside just to get a milkbone. I thinak pets are smarter then what we give them credit for
ReplyDeleteKeep teasing her lol and love them all.
She's very cute and I LOVE your new spring banner picture!
ReplyDeleteHer name should have given you a hint that she was going to keep you busy. Glad to see that she is living up to her name.
ReplyDeletethat's very cute!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Bobbie, I've had cats, too, with very specific personalities. One of mine back in high school was good at picking out good friends for me. Mom got so she wanted to see what the cat said before I went out with boys! And Caroline's late buddy Brady was a major personality! Probably the only cat besides my own that I was crazy about.
ReplyDeleteMM-MM, thanks & thanks!!
Caroline, that's true! She is not exactly a vixen, but she can be vexing!!
