These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

I'm Being Harrassed!!

Caroline commented on my last post:
"No post since the party....No Tuesday Trivia....are you still hungover from the party??"

No, not at all. I've just been busy. Yesterday I was terribly tired, and I spent the day watching TV and playing solitaire on the computer. Today was nice sunny weather, so I took the opportunity to work outside and got a tone of work done. Tomorrow will be nice most of the day, and I will probably work outside again.

I've also been thinking about the blog. So many of my blogger friends have "defected" to facebook and are no longer blogging as much, some not at all. I miss that interaction. Yes, I read most of those folks on facebook, but that venue is very different. Facebook lends itself to short statements while blogs encourage more in-depth thoughts, I think. As I read other's blogs, I often found things that inspired me for some of the ideas with my posts. I'm really missing some of my blogger-gone-facebook friends. Then another one posted her final post, and it just started me thinking about my committment here. So I'm thinking about scaling back my own volume of posts, also. Facebook, doesn't excite me as much for the content, although it is a wonderful tool for reconnecting with friends with whom I've lost touch. I want to blog, but right now, I'm feeling a drag of inspiration. No decision yet. I'll get back to you on that.

My lawnmower would not start a couple weeks ago, to my consternation. I was cursing myself for not spending the extra dollars for an electric starter when I bought it last summer. At the time it made sense. I can pull the cord, and having the battery to mess with was a negative for me. But when I couldn't get it started, I was frustrated, and rethinking that electric starter. However, the other night at the dinner I mentioned it, and one of the guys suggested that I probably need to clean the air filter. Oh, I hadn't thought of that. Today I cleaned it and voilá!!! It is running like a champ, and I was able to get the back yard mowed today! Whew!

I love it when things work. I hate it when they don't. Today is a good day!

  1. I am a realatively new blogger (a little over a year) and I miss reading others blogs as you mentioned. So don't stay away very long.

So glad your cleaned air filter did the trick. Happy mowing!

  2. LOL. Glad you saw the humor in my comment.

You can not, I repeat, you can not stop blogging. I will not allow it!!!! I seem to have found my blogging grove again and I really hope you do soon. I love reading your blog and love seeing all you are doing.

Facebook is good, but it doesn't compare to a blog. Please don't leave us.

  4. Hey, everyone, I guess it did sound like I was leaving forever, but that wasn't what I meant. I was meaning that I may dial it back from the 1-4 times a day I've done many times recently. That's all. I was considering 2-3 times a week. As I said, we'll see!

  5. I hope you don't stop blogging entirely. I too have noticed not too many people are blogging and I really miss it. The very people who inspired me to start my blog to begin with are now gone with the wind.

  7. I know I don't blog BUT I can tell you that I would miss reading yours.
Glad you took a day of rest, I'm sure you needed that.
I was mowing on Tuesday and blew up the motor, big hole in the side. This will be costly to fix. We do have a back up rider and a push mower so I WILL NOT be able to get out of mowing... Glad yours was an easy fix.
    Have a great day!

  8. Wait until the end of July to make your decision. This is my 3rd year of blogging and I swear July are the dog days. We all seem to gravitate towards the sun and away from the computer.

I have also noticed that some people are posting less in favor of facebook or other social networking sites. On the other hand, I have found other "new to me" bloggers to read by following people's links. I think blogging is changing but fingers crossed, I don't think it is going away forever in favor of facebook.

  9. Again, I'm not really planning to stop totally, just considering slowing down. And I follow other blogs, too, linking through friends' blogs or else just randomly surfing. It's just frustrating to see so many that I've enjoyed reading float off into the sunset. I'm glad all of you are still around.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
