These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

It's Monday

.
This morning ....

I woke with a headache, probably some allergies and whatever else. I had some coffee, and the headache was much better. I don't consume much caffeine, usually a cup of coffee or tea in the morning and perhaps a couple chocolate cookies or pieces of candy in the afternoon or evening. Yes, sometimes it is more than than, but rarely past two cups or maybe four pieces of candy. So I don't think it was a caffeine-related headache, but the cuppa java helped. So, no this wouldn't be me ....

I'm taking a "me day," nevertheless. I love "me days"! It's past noon and I'm still in my nighty! I probably won't get dressed today, unless the mood changes. Nothing is concrete.

I found some cartoons that reflect my life with my dogs. The first one is Max.

Groannnnn. He won't .... repeat .... won't stop marking in the house. And of course, it got worse while TL and the kids were here. I had shampooed the carpet a week before they arrived, and it already looks like it was never done. I have found nothing that stops him. I'm at wits end over this. I'll try to keep a sense of humor about it. I'll try. I'll try.

Jazi, thunder .... need I say more?

Joey, food dish .... need I say more?

All of them, any little noise .... need I say more?

And about picnics. Since last week, picnics have been on my mind (and the same with some of you, judging from the comments!), so these caught my attention.

OK, I gotta get back to work. Hey! "Me days" are work! Are too!!

  1. Sorry you woke up with a headache, but glad to hear that it's now gone. You are smart for taking it easy today and resting. I love those days where I stay in my PJ's all day. Yesterday S and I woke up around 9:30am, but stayed in our PJ's until 3pm.

  2. Strangely, the headache has come back several times, but lasts for just a few minutes and is gone again. I don't know what is up. Maybe I'm just creating an excuse to be lazy??? Could be!!

  5. i can so relate to the dog comics...simon sir poopalot barks his mind all of the time. he is not particularly protective of his food dish but then he is the only dog. the cat sniffs around his dish but decides not to eat anything. the boy cat seems to need to "approve" of all food laid out in the house before anyone can eat.

  7. I had a poodle/terrier who never stopped going in the house, and we had her for 17 years. It was a pain, but I couldn't get rid of her for it. Our beagle has a doggy door with a fenced in backyard, so thank heavens, we don't have that kind of problem anymore. Even when he's at someone else's house, he's on his best behavior. I guess all dogs are different - just like people. --Cheryl

  8. There are days that I just need a coke. I'm not a coffee drinker.

  9. Cheryl, the thing is, he doesn't actually "go" in the house, he just (just???) marks, dribbling here & there to let everyone know It is his territory. It is harder to find to clean up, but the smell is there, even so. Very aggravating! I have two, mind you, TWO doggy doors!! He goes out to do his business, but he things everyone needs to know he owns this house and everything/everyone in it!!

MJ, I rarely do soft drinks. The sugar is a killer! And I know you do diet, but I no longer do artificial sweeteners either. I 'spose it's all basically bad, huh?

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
