These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Friday Finish Up

.
Lola has a new toy that she loves to drag around the house. I've been trying to get a picture of it, but I haven't succeeded yet. She moves way too fast when she gets hold of it. The newly found toy? Sam. Yep, you heard that right, Sam.

Lola has discovered she can get a bite on his collar and drag him everywhere she chooses to. It is hilarious to watch! Sam has to be the biggest pull toy around! He is truly at her disposal, because they are about the same size, and since she has the collar, he can't turn his head to get her back. If I'm able to get some pictures, I'll post them later on. Meanwhile ....

They also have tug-o-war over a toy often. Struggle, struggle, struggle.

Sam won this one!

I'm da man, er, da dog!

Then Joey decided to wrestle over the toy.

But this time, he didn't try really hard, so Sam still have it.

Joe got up on the couch, and Lola and Sam were chasing each other tough the house, the toy is Sam's mouth! Suddenly, as often happens, Lola and Sam were on the couch .....

They literally rolled over Joe, who is so easy going and didn't even move a muscle. Lola pinned her big brother right away.

The baby is a bully!

Sam's making his move.....

but Lola doesn't give up!

OK. Time for a little breather.

Then she grabs the toy and semi-hides!

"Nanner, nanner, nanner, I got it!!"

I watched a cloud float across the valley a few days ago. One lone cloud was just drifting, low to the ground, nothing particularly spectacular about it. I read a few minutes and when I looked up, it had worked its way back against the mountain and into the Gap.

It was so cool how it seemed to follow the mountain, then make a left hand turn to take itself through the low area and apparently to the other side of the mountain.
A few minutes after I took this, the cloud was completely gone, out of sight. I love watching the many amazing pieces of nature around here. There is something new every day. Some days I forget to look, but when I pay attention, it is heaven.

I haven't said this in a long time....

.... Life is beautiful!!!!

  1. Love the pictures so very pretty even the babies playing Pepper likes being dragged also James usually does that while she has a rope in her mouth.

  2. I can't tell if Sam likes it or just tolerates it! But he doesn't seem to get upset, so I'm not too worried about it!

  3. Sadie used to get pulled around by a border collie 1/2 her size. It was so funny.

  5. I didn't think it was possible, but I think I love Sammy even more. What a good sport to put up with Lola's games. He is such a great dog.

Instead of trying to get it in pictures, you should record it and then post to your blog. Then you could submit it to America's Funniest Videos. :) See, I have it all planned out for you.

  6. I love that he allows himself to be pulled. What a good natured dog.
Did I tell you my neighbor, the one who got rid of her cat for the couch, is flying to PA to get a special breed of dog not recommended for condos because they need space and will run each chance they get? She's so odd. I guess at least I know if the dog is such a rare breed it will have a home when she tires of it.

  10. Caroline, he is a heart-winner, for many reasons/characteristics. He and Lola steal hearts for their cute puppiness. Although he is 5, Sam has a puppy quality about him. Joe and Jaz capture hearts for their gentle cuddliness, although both have a playful side to them. Max .... well, Max tends to draw attention for his sense of loneliness and neediness. He actually has all the sweet characteristics of the others, but he is so competitive that it overshadows.

If I can ever get the camera in time, I planned to video it, but even though I try to keep it handy, it usually starts before I can get the camera in my hands. Keep planning!

Julie, he is a mellow little boy!
Your neighbor sounds like a doozy! I hate it when people treat pets as possessions, rather than the living, loving devotees they are. So are you going to rescue the dog when the time comes? :D

Ruth, their personalities and expressiveness makes it easy to come up with the narrative!

  11. These are such joyful pictures. Your dogs are so cute. It's amazing how dogs are created with their own personalities just like people. Come to think of it, I guess all animals are like that. It makes life interesting - and beautiful as you said. Don and I liked the God and Dog youtube video on your August 27 post. He wanted to put it on ours! --Cheryl

  12. Cheryl, isn't it interesting that each species looks like they are all just alike .... till you stop and watch! Then you see the personalities. The same holds true for groups of people, I think. That's why it is important to step across the barrier and get to know each other!

I hope you found the necessary path to put the video on your blog. I think it is just wonderful!
