OK, here's a little video of the hummingbirds. If you turn your sound on, you'll hear the wind chimes, the hummingbirds, a single woof from one of the pups, and my voice, of course. It will give you an idea of what I get to enjoy watching all day long. When I was filling the feeders moments before this, the little impatient birds were hovering about 4-6 inches from my hands, watching me pour the nectar into their mini bars! I could feel the wind from their wings! Brave little things!

Wonderful video they are amazing little critters
ReplyDeleteAren't they fun to watch? :D
ReplyDeleteI just love hummingbirds, my er, near-sighted middle-aged hubby almost swatted one the other week he thought it was some kind of bee! Thankfully he didn't and we got a big laugh out of it.
ReplyDeleteOMG, Patti, get that boy to an eye doc!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these little birds! I'm not getting as many this year and it makes me a bit sad. Although, I haven't been home as much. They are so much fun to watch. They just bring so much joy.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are enjoying your summer days.

You know, Cheryl, I didn't have as many this year, either. Then about a week ago, all heck broke loose in the hummingbird department! I don't know why! And YES, I'm enjoying summer!!
ReplyDeletelove your birds. we put out a feeder and got nothing. the stuff evaporated before anything came.
ReplyDeletehow do the hummingbirds know you now want to see them? do you send a memo?
we got a really neato glass ball feeder and want to put it out, but alas . . nothing.
No WONDER we haven't had many hummingbirds this year...they're all at YOUR house!! :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great video!!! It obvious that they know where the good stuff is.
ReplyDeleteBeans, yes. Yes, I sent a teeny-tiny little memo to the birds! LOL! I've used store-bought nectar and made my own, and I get much better results with the homemade. They're supposed to be attracted to the red color in the commercial stuff, but mine don't seem to like it.
ReplyDeleteSay it, Dawn. I know you want to. Say it! I'll admit it .... my name is Lyn, and I'm a hummingbird hoarder!
Caroline, yeppers! Not only is my kitchen capable of producing yummy foods for my guests, but it works equally well for the hummers, too!! Thanks!
