Earlier this evening I saw a doe and a fawn walking through the back yard, right where the little doe was sleeping last night. I don't think it was the same one, because I didn't see a fawn last night.
A few minutes ago I looked again. My little doe is out there, nestled in the same place, and there is no fawn. I guess I have a squatter! Do you think I could charge her rent? It would certainly help my budget!
Nah. I 'spect I'd never collect it, and besides, she is a nice quiet neighbor. I'll just let her be.
These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................
Not to mention a beautiful neighbor. I think deer are just gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteHow super cool Lyn. I love having deer on the premises. Well, I don't have them down here, but I use to have them when I lived in Missouri.
ReplyDeleteQueenie, me, too, and they seem to epitomize peaceful coexistence. I love having them around. And thanks, sweetie! :)
ReplyDeleteMoni, I'm surprised you don't have deer! They seem to be everywhere in NM. I'd forgotten you were from MO! Now I didn't see them at my house in KC, but they would have been SO far from anything forest-like that it would have been an awful thought.
