These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Bah, Humbug!!

I don't freakin' believe it!!! I just DON'T!!!

It was supposed to start snowing late this afternoon and continue through tomorrow midday. We were supposed to get as much as 8-16 inches. But I was hoping that by the time the storm actually got here, it would change and be less accumulation.

It started snowing about 8:30 or 9:00 this morning, just tiny, very sparse snowflakes. I didn't worry. Much. But by 10:00, it was coming down fast, huge flakes. And now .... the ground that was mostly clear by yesterday is covered again!!! It's not heavily covered, but except in protected areas, the ground is white, ALL white, again.

I like cold weather. I like snow. But I've had snow for nearly three months now, and I'm ready for something springlike!!! At least for a couple weeks, please, could I have bare ground, blue skies, and temps in the 50s? PLEASE????

last week, the long range forecast said we would have mid 40s to mid 50s. Remember? I told you about it. Now it is snowing, accumulating into another confining depth, and another storm is moving through later in the week and again over the coming weekend!!!!

OK, OK, OK!!! I know you're tired of hearing me whine, so I'll quit. Is it OK to start drinking at 11:00 in the morning?

sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

  1. I feel your pain, really I do! We are having a Winter Storm Advisory too and the forecast is 6-8 inches. The only good thing I got out of it was a day off work. That's right, another Snow Day! I was planning to stay home anyway and take a sick day (annoying cold) but now I can save it. It's only pretty to me when I don't have to go out in it! I'm ready for spring too!!

  2. Lyn, I'm just catching up after the weekend. First, let me offer my sympathy at the loss of your dear brother in law.

Then I, too, had a wonderful crush on Roy Rogers for his entire life. When he died my daughter called me and said she was sorry for my loss, And she was sincere.

As for the snow. I feel your pain. Enough is enough. We are having colder weather here than was predicted last week too. It's only going to get to 60 today and it's windy.

    Hang in there.

    P.S. I posted on write4ten.

  3. It is perfectly fine to complain about it Lyn. It's that time of year when we are all sick of it. March is just around the corner and then we will really be anxious! I know I am. For us here in Southern Illinois it's the gloom. I don't think that I've seen a week of sun all total since the first of January. I walk around feeling in a gloomy, tired fog and I'm sick of it!! There now you don't have to feel all alone in your whining!!

  4. Deb, as I said, I actually like winter, but it has begun to wear on me. I'm glad you got to stay home, however, Cool!

Thank you, Pam. He was such a sweetheart.

Yeah, enough is enough. If I've counted right (it's hard because I don't live near any "official" weather monitoring site) I've had over 3 feet of snow this winter, more than is usual. I'd love to have 60° today!! Enjoy it!

I'll go over and read right away!

  5. Oh, Diana, that is what I hated about living in KC .... the everlasting grey skies. Gaaaaaah! I must say, I get blue skies here most days. We've had a few times this year that we didn't have any real sun for a day, but not for days (or weeks) on end. I have SAD, and it really sucks the energy from me without sun for just 2-3 days.

    Daisy, I know.

  6. If I were in your place I'd be chugaluging a bottle of something. If you ever get to the store again lay in a supply. It's truly amazing what this winter has dumped on the USA.

And for an update .... now, at 1:10, the sun has come out in the last hour, it is up to 40° (from 30° at 11:00), it has stopped snowing and the wind is blowing now! I think Mother Nature is PMSing!!!

  8. There are many people in the world that would do anything for that much snow....(sounds like something my Mom would say when I didn't finish my dinner)

Enjoy it while you can and know that there is at least one person that is very jealous.

  10. This is getting more and more bizarre! The temperatures are seesawing up and down, it snows so hard I can't see the road and 10 minutes later the sun is shining brightly! Crazy!!

Caroline, You're funny! Yes, I know, you would love this! And you know I don't mind it, normally. I just need a break.

    Ruth, I'm with ya!!!
