These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Feeling old and tired this morning

When I get tired, I feel old. Do you?

I went to bed at the usual time last night, watched a sitcom I'd recorded, turned off the TV, and fell asleep almost immediately.

Then I woke less than an hour later and couldn't go back to sleep.

After an hour, I had a glass of milk and read for a while. I became sleepy again, turned off the light .... and my senses popped wide open again.

I got up, sat in the living room with a book, and when I felt sleepy, went straight to bed. Nothing.

Finally, after 2:00 AM, I gave up and took a mild sleep aid, and 45 minutes later, felt drowsy. I did finally fall to sleep, but at this point I was exhausted. I slept until after 8:00 this morning, but I'm hardly refreshed from what sleep I got. I'll take a nap later, and hope tonight is better.

Yep, this is how I feel right now. I do hope I get some rest and and "grow younger."



  1. I didn't sleep well last night myself Lyn, and yes, I feel about 100 years old today. Need a nap as well. Get your nap asap.:)

  2. I've had lunch, so now I can nap. Ahhh.

  3. I have a feeling that when I retire I will be a night owl. I love staying up late!! But I know when you want to get some sleep and you can't it becomes very frustrating.

    Hope you take some good naps today.

  4. I'm not extreme, but I tend to be a night owl, too. I'm usually up till 12:00 or 1:00. I've been going to be earlier (10:30 or 11:00ish) since the surgery to allow myself as much rest as possible for healing. I'll surely be glad when I feel like myself on the energy again!

    Well I've had one nap, about 30-40 minutes. I feel like I may take another!

  5. I have bad sleep issues. I can fall asleep but can't stay asleep all night. I was awake from 3-5:30am last frustrating.

  6. I've had lengthy spell of doing that, but fortunately it has gotten better. I hope yours does, too.


If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
