These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

No place like home.....

We are home!! It was a very long day, and we are both exhausted. Linda is already in bed, and I'm on mine, too, but writing this note before I conk out for the night.

The dogs were sooo excited to see me! It was a love-fest in the middle of my living room floor for about 45 minutes before they could settle down! Now we are all tucked in and ready to relax.

Max is being very bossy with his siblings! I guess his adventure made him even bolder and more determined to be the boss of the pack. However, he seems to be somewhat less aggressive, just vocal. I don't know. We'll see how it goes.  I tried to scold him for running away (just kidding!), but he couldn't hear me because he was so busy licking me, my hands, arms, feet, legs, anything he could get to. I think he is glad we are both home! Goofy dog.

More tomorrow. Adieu, mes amis!

  1. I knew Max would be so grateful, if dogs can be grateful, to see you! And I can only imagine how happy all of them were to see you! Welcome home!
    Love Di ♥

  3. Poor little Max, he must have thought that you left for good. Dogs are so grateful no matter what.

  4. Di, I'm one of those nutty dog owners who attribute many human emotions to dogs, so of course, I think he was grateful! Rescue animals seem to have an even greater devotion to their owners than dogs who have had it easy from the get-go. I can't tell you how they "thank" me on a regular basis. And thanks, it is very good to be home!

Cyndi, we are tired, but it was a fun trip. And the dogs .... well, I hope it is out of their systems, and they will stay home from now on!

Moni, my psychic friend says that Max seemed to know I was coming home, but he wasn't in a hurry to be here until I was home! She has been helpful in locating many lost animals around here, and she does it free because she loves animals so much. She rescues, like I do, and she understand their limited trust with humans they don't know well. Actually Max knows Boy Wonder very well and likes him, but there isn't a complete trust there. I don't know if Max will ever have that with someone besides me. He's very cautious. Grateful? Oh, my yes!! Max could NOT quit licking me last night!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
