These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Dad's Birthday

This was scheduled to post yesterday, but in it's mess ups of late, Blogger didn't get the job done. Here it is a day late.

~~~~
Today is the 100th anniversary of my dad's birth.
A month from today marks ten years since he left.
We miss him. A lot. This photo was quite a few years ago, but I love that all of us were together.
When I was little, I used to say that Daddy had a double chin. It was a long time before I understood that the correct name was a "cleft chin"!!
My dad's baby sister is in the blue dress. I think when this was taken, they were the last surviving siblings, and Mom was the last of her family.
Miss you, Dad! Love you enough for eternity.
  1. I'm off to calling hours for my friend's 96 year old dad this afternoon. No matter how old they are, it's hard to let them go.
  3. Andrea, it is so weird. I've used that for nearly the whole time I've been blogging, and it is usually no problem. the last few days, though, I've had several problems. I don't know.
  4. No matter how old we become... we're still our Daddy's little girls.
    I think your double chin story is cute:)
    My Dad too has been gone for a couple years now and not a day goes by that I don't think of him and miss him; but I'm comforted in knowing that this place we call Earth is just our temporary home and we'll be together again some day in a better place called Heaven. Our Daddy's just got to go there before we were ready to let them go. {{HUGS}}
  9. Thanks, Caroline. I wish you had, too. After they spent so many Christmases with us, it is sad that they couldn't travel shortly before you moved in next door.
  11. S, he was one of those "bigger than life" people, even though he never saw it in himself. We were lucky girls, weren't we, to have him in our lives? :')
If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
