I don't know why that turned sideways, but oh well. My old iPod died. Well, not completely, but it's on life support. Literally. As long as it has a power source attached, it plays, so I will leave it in the dock of my sound system for music here at home. And now I have this one that I can take with me when I go out.
It is charged and synced now. See? it is syncing in this photo. I plan to down load some audio books to it for traveling. It will be easier than having to change CDs in the player. I can just plug in the iPod and gooooooooooo!
Happy birthday to me,

ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Birthday!! (-:
ReplyDeleteHow long did your Ipod last before it had to be put on life support?
I have had a couple Mp3 players and I get frustrated because they only seem to last about a year. I thinkg they are prissy little machines and I am thinking of returning to a turntable and LPs.
I don't know what it is but there is something good about buying oneself a birthday gift. I think for me it is because I always buy for everyone else so when I buy for me I feel special! I think thats the same ipod my Katie has! Love Di ♥
ReplyDeleteYG, sure!! Bring it down! We'll have a good visit and have phone lessons!
ReplyDeleteMary, thanks for the BD wishes!
The iPod lasted nearly 5 years. I think it might have lasted longer, but I just recently discovered that when I leave it in the dock, turn off the sound system without turning it off individually, it continued to play, without me knowing it as the sound was off. I suspect that wore out the battery.
I understand about the LPs, but when I hadn't played them for about 8 years as I had everything on CD by then, I sold the collection. I love the iPod for the portability.
Di, I agree. It is sweet to pick our own gift; we know it will be right! I looked at several iPods, and this was one of the least expensive, but I didn't need, wouldn't use some of the features on the others. I simply want to listen to music, and put a few audio books on it. Just what I want
What a great gift for yourself!!! Were you able to transfer the music from your old iPod to the new one? I know the music is stored on your computer, but I thought you could only hook one iPod up to your computer. Just curious in case my iPod ever dies on me.
ReplyDeleteCaroline, I downloaded from my computer to the new one. It might depend on the music program you use, but I have iTunes, and when I connect the iPod to the computer, it automatically updates/syncs. I have "playlists" of my favorite music saved in iTunes and all I have to do is select which ones I want on the iPod. Does that make sense? Both iPods have the same music right now, but I will probably change that in the future. I'll sync the old one soon and see if the computer have convulsions! I'll let you know.
