These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

My beautiful truck

You all know my truck is gorgeous, right?

It really is beautiful.

It's beautiful in the shade.

Or with the sun glinting off it.

And I have that perfect license plate.

Even from the back it is beautimous!

But it just got more beautiful. Know why?

Yesterday I picked up my mail and someone sent me something perfect for the truck and for me, too. Look closely, see it? Right there!

Yep, Caroline sent me the magnetic sticker that says it all. As the mom to five rescued four-leggers with funny little fuzzy faces, I can say that it is very true .... I'm not sure who got the best deal here, the five or me!!

I can't imagine what life would be without them. Sometimes I think of the inconveniences .... the months of house training; the months of gaining their trust since they had various degrees of human-fear; the cost of having them all neutered and spayed; the cost of upkeep - shots, food, grooming (at $30/dog, it's a tidy $150 to have them professionally done!!); the inconvenience when I want to travel (they're not quite trustworthy enough to take to someone's house overnight yet, and not all of them know that a walk on the leash means "go potty"); the cost if I travel (I have a good deal at $20/night; some house/pet sitters charge that much per dog!); the problem with eloping dogs (er, dog!!!), etc., etc., etc. But I wouldn't want it to be any other way. They completely own me, hook line and sinker. That's just the way it is.

So yes, I technically rescued them, but they have kept me from being lonely. Living alone can become wearisome. With them in my life, there is no way!! They delight me, make me laugh, make be feel safe (built-in stranger alarms!), and their love in unconditional. Completely. So I may have made the drives to collect them, but the rescuing is pretty mutual. :)

On another note, look what Sandy introduced me to when she was here.

Know what it is?

Coca-Cola imported from Mexico! Seriously!

And what's so special about it? It is made with sugar, real sugar, not other sweeteners, and it tastes very good!

See the sticker on the side of the bottle? It's the ingredient list which is added for our benefit here in the US.

Life is good, isn't it? Great truck, wonderful friends, precious pets, and Coke! Yep ....

.... Life is beautiful!!!!

  1. I am so happy you like it. I was hoping you would put it on your truck, but I know some people don't want anything on their car. It looks great on the back of your truck.

You are the one person that deserves that magnet. I just love how you have opened your home and heart to your 5 babies. Because of you they are all living a great life. And I agree, they are all totally worth it.

I love drinking Coke out of a bottle. It just tastes better to me. Coke make with real sugar...I don't think I have ever tasted that. Can you tell the difference? I am sure the one that is only made with sugar tastes a whole lot better.

  2. Thanks, dear heart, for the sticker and the words. :)

The Coke? Well, I think I can tell the difference, but given a blind taste test, I don't know. It tastes .... more "coke-y" to me. It's definitely very smooth.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
