These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

I think I have finished the stone steps. At least everything is in place, and I don't anticipate any more big stone moving of major proportions. I'll have to keep adjusting and filling for a while, but that is about the extent of the labor. I hope.

I have a little rock work to do elsewhere, but I'm talking about smaller stones. Small potatoes, compared to what I've been doing! Just some edging stones to be placed in a few spots, and that isn't a big concern. I "borrowed " a few stones that I needed and that fit into the steps, so I will need to replace those with others.

I'm becoming happier every day with my garden. Despite the loss of a few plants, the ones that are there continue to thrive, spreading (where appropriate), blooming, and looking better and better. If most of this survives and reblooms next year, I'll have it made. I may not even have to buy many plants next year. I know, I know!! I probably will anyway, but the operative words are "have to."

Now, it is Tylenol time again. So far, that has averted the severe soreness, and working a little each day keeps the muscles mobile. That's a good thing. And I hope Tylenol give me the same pleasant dreams I had last night.

Last night I dreamed the best dream. My son, his wife and daughter are coming next week for a visit, IRL. Well, my dream was about that. I dreamed that I looked out the window and my two granddaughters, Kylee and Lexie, were walking toward my door, their arms around each other, and chatting as teenagers will do. They are 14 next month and 13 respectively. I went to the door, and looked over the railing of the deck into the driveway and saw Scott and Connie, but also my daughter, Terri, Lexie's mom. There was a Jeep that Terri had driven up in, although I don't know how I would know that. She looked up at me and said "We thought we would surprise you!" Woohoo!! I didn't see Kirk or Philip, but I know they were there, too. What a fabulous, happy dream! Yeah, I would like another great dream like that!

OK, need to fix dinner for me and The Kids! Au revoir!

  1. Ahhh... thank God for Tylenol! Don't go overdoing it on the stones now. I looked back on your old post when you were first making the steps. I've been there... done that... and I KNOW it's a LOT of work.

  3. Your place will just about be perfect for your guests and I think you will enjoy them all the more for the hard work you've done to make your house a home. My daughter is coming from California to visit me next month, and I am so excited. BTW Lyn I love really good dreams like that;)

  4. I rarely remember my dreams, Moni, but when it is one as sweet as this, I'm really glad I did! My DIL says she has a plan to get us all together. That would be so awesome!

  9. Don't you just love wonderful dreams!!! I bet you wanted to fall back asleep and try to get back in your dream. I always do that when I wake up from a good dream.

I am so excited for you that Scott and Connie are coming for a visit. Don't forget to take LOTS of pictures.

  10. I do! To finish a good dream is always a wish upon waking. Yep, I'll take pictures if I don't forget it in the busy-ness! No, I'll remember.

  11. I am in need of a tylenol. I had a deep tissue massage and learned to curl yesterday. I am sore. I should probably move around today but all I want to do is relax! Hope my muscle don't tighten up tomorrow.
Btw, in response to your comment on my picture blog about having some stones that need throwing around: no thank you! Not today, at least. Maybe if you have pebbles that need moving....

  12. Mary, pebbles labor is appreciated, also!

“Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain.”

See, if you move pebbles, you move mountains.

  14. Di, I really want to hear about that dream!

The rocks .... I'm still adjusting and I will for a while, but it's not a big deal any more, just a tweak here and there.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
