These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

Cyber-wonkies

OK, I know something is in the air. Or in the internet. Or something.

Remember when I was complaining about trouble with things on the internet on Wednesday? Pictures weren't uploading well, it seemed the internet was just slow and irritating, and it was driving me crazy. Later in the day, everything seemed to be just fine.

Yesterday I was having trouble with Facebook, and it continued into this morning. Every now and then, I would try to read a comment, and it wouldn't load, then an error message would pop up. In a few seconds, it would load, but this happened about every 3-4 times I tried to change windows.

Just a couple hours ago, I was sending out an email to a group, and it wouldn't work. When I typed the name of the group, the address bar remained blank. I opened the address book in Yahoo, and looked at the group, and it said there were no names in it! I began looking at other groups in my list, and they were all blank! Every. Single. One.

I don't know what has happened, but it is frustrating that my three major places have all gone wonky on me this week!! I think everything is working right now, but ....

Has anyone else had cyber-wonkies?

  1. YES!!!! I have had problems the last couple of days. I have gone to websites and the pictures won't load and FB has been acting all weird tonight. Half the time FB won't load or when I am on there it freezes up.

There is something in the air and I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one with problems. I was beginning to think that maybe there was something wrong with my computer.

Maybe this "thing" has something to do with all the miscommunications that have been going on between people lately.

  2. Well, Mercury is not in retrograde till the 20th, so we can't blame it on that. I would have sworn it was that. Then I thought about the solar flare that was reported to happen this week, but I haven't heard anything that indicates that has caused problems. But I agree, something is up! I'll ask Zoë about it tomorrow if I can remember during a quiet time. It's certainly irritating, isn't it?

  3. No problems here. At the moment, anyway. I hope your cyber wonkies move on because they're are annoying little creatures!

  5. Sorry you're having problems. I had a big one last week while I was at my daughter's house. I was on Facebook and all of a sudden messages started popping up, then warnings that I was getting a virus and I needed to download anti-virus software immediately. It was really freaky. Somehow my techy daughter figured out how to somehow avoid the popups and download anti=virus software and restore all my setting to whatever they were the day before. I was worried that it had infected everything but things seem to be back to normal now! Technology is both wonderful and terrible!! Hope your problems straighten themselves out soon.

  6. Jen, I'm glad you're not having it at your place. It stinks!

Freda, isn't it annoying? I think it has settled down now. Whew!

Deb, I swear there was something serious going on. I've talked to a number of people who experienced problems in the past week. I think/hope it's back in place now.

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
