These are random musings of my life journey, the people, animals, places, and events which have woven, and continue to weave, a tapestry that is me. We all know there is no real destination, only the ongoing experiences which blend together, creating the trail. Each step gives a glimpse of what is to come, without allowing me to see the end result. It is exciting. I have a home base that is mine, that gives me a place to rest. This is it. This is where my heart is, no matter where I journey...................

It's Fall

This morning is mostly cloudy, overcast and grey. At 10:00 it is just 56° outside. What else could happen to make it more fall-like? When I got out of bed, I put on long pants and a little hooded jacket I wear around the house at times, and it feels good on my arms.

If that sounds whiny, don't be fooled. I like the cool weather. I could do without the overcast, but I know it's temporary, so no big deal. The high today will be 69°, and over the next ten days, the highest temperature I see is 70°. The lowest is 64°. And the overnight lows are 46° down to 41°.  Definitely my kind of weather. I'm thinking perhaps it is time to get out my winter clothes and pack away the summer ones. Well, except for the Hawaii wardrobe. A sweater would feel good on most of the next ten days, and I'm pretty sure it's not going to be significantly warmer after that.

I slept last night for nearly ten hours. Wow! I think it might have been the cool weather, the rain that was falling almost all night. I feel really refreshed today, but I'm not very inclined to do much. I'm enjoying sitting the couch and watching a movie on TV. "Forget Paris" with Billy Crystal, Debra Winger, Joe Mantegna. Movies with Billy Crystal are good, light and fun, but not too soppy. I'm guessing I won't be doing much more than this today. Cloudy weather inspires me to be uninspired!

Aaaaaaannnnnnnd ..... what are YOU doing today? Or what are you not doing? Is it fall where you are?

  1. Those temps sound like the ones where we live in Oregon. I absolutely love it, even on overcast days. I'd be in real trouble if cloudy weather kept me from being motivated. I love that cook bite to the air. I keep a window raised just a few inches near my head when I'm sleeping.

I'm seeing daughter off to the airport today and then putting my house and life back into its daily order.

  2. I've noticed much of the summer our temps have been similar. I suspect this winter mine will be much more cold than yours. Yes, I sleep with the window open, also, closing it only if it is raining or snowing in. I'm still keeping it open a couple feet at this time. 40s at night make me sleep like a baby! Even when the temps are well below freezing, it will be open a couple inches.

Putting the house back in order after guests is a love/hate task, isn't it?

  3. For the last week we have had beautiful weather and it looks like it will be nice for the next week as well. It's been sunny and cool with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. This weekend it was a bit more chilly with highs only in the 60s and the lows have been in the 30s. I love it!!! My house was so cold this morning that I turned the heat on for 15 minutes just to get the chill out.

  4. Caroline, I do the same thing some mornings, turn the heat on for just a few minutes. I've already had it on and used it 5-6 times this fall. Best weather in the world!

  5. Yep, its fall here north of the border. Weatherman tonight suggested the windshield scraper might be needed in the early morning. Did you know a credit card works in a pinch? LOL Right now (8:30pm) temp is 8 Celcius...around 46F so that is cool. Sooooo the roofs (rooves) might be white in the morning.

  6. Ruth, we would all be better off if we used our credit cards that way!! My overnight low is to be 46°, so what you're feeling right now is what I will slumber with. I love it like this. I'll be interested in hearing if you have sn.... the white stuff (don't want to shake folks up!) overnight!

  10. I got a smattering of rain today and we have more in the forecast for a couple days. There has been enough sunshine, however, that it hasn't been gloomy. I like that!

If you have something to say about it, just stick out your thumb, and I'll slow down so you can hop aboard! But hang on, 'cause I'm movin' on down the road!!! No time to waste!!!
